What I asked for vs what I received.
255$ for this cake , this cake was such an embarrassment. Everything about it was wrong! A sunken in, melted and dry cake. My child’s first birthday cake was known as a sample cake yet we didn’t know until after we received it and spoke with the owner. MAJOR FEEDBACK: if you do not know/never have done a specific design state that to the customer before saying you can do it. The pictures were sent to the email at the time we placed the order so there is no way you could say this is what the cake is supposed to look like. The owner was such in a rush to get the order placed and write all the details down yet they weren’t even followed. No dots, no piping around the top border, the plaque was not the same,(probably why it was so heavy on the paper) the two tone plaid was not the same. We called and spoke with the owner as soon as we saw it falling apart and she stated she didn’t do our cake. So you hired someone that did whatever they wanted to. Instead of acknowledging our issues at first she went through the line of excuses making it seem like we caused this issue. Finally she says the plaque is pulling down the thin paper and that this was the first time they have tried this. She disregarded every other issue I had with the cake as well. You decided to give us a partial refund of the design that took two weeks. I wasn’t going to write a review because the event is over but to just receive 35$ as a refund I am very unsettled with how such a special moment was ruined and thats all what was refunded.
Also, this is not our first time here. Over the years Marcia’s bakery was our go to when it came to special events. Birthdays, graduations, baby showers and weddings we have had issues in the past when it comes to the design/taste of the cake sometimes and the work is just inconsistent. We wanted to keep supporting her but as I write this review we will not be returning nor recommending anybody we know to this...
Read moreWe hired this bakery to create a Nightmare Before Christmas themed birthday cake for our daughter's 4th birthday. We couldn't be more delighted with how the cake turned out or our choice to hire Oh, What a Cake!
When we hired the bakery we simply told them we wanted an original Nightmare Before Christmas themed cake and showed them some still images from the movie and the movie poster. Otherwise, we let the baker and her staff go wild with their creativity and artistry. The baker and the staff were very kind, courteous, and accommodating. Throughout the process of designing the cake, they kept us in the loop with e-mailed updates and questions seeking our input on colors and placement of cake decorations. The cake was prepared on time and my daughter, her friends, and other guests in attendance were absolutely delighted with the visual appearance of the cake. The cake itself was delicious - light and moist without being overly decadent, heavy, or sweet.
We don't usually write reviews but wanted to do so here because of how well we were treated and how well the cake turned out. We give them our very best recommendation and will be going back again in the future for other...

Our daughter was turning 10. We had no idea how to combine her two interests - chess and tennis - in a cake design, so we decided to do a chess-themed cake, but soon realized we couldn't think of a fun and colorful design. So we asked the baker for help. She started by asking our daughter about chess and tennis and more, what she likes, who were her favorite players, etc; they even discussed the recent Roland Garros final. And then she had the cake design: a tennis court with two chess pieces as the players. The chess pieces would have the colors of the Spanish and Italian flags, making it the final between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner! And the 1, 0 candles were the score.
The cake turned out absolutely gorgeous, fun, and delicious too - our daughter and her guests were thrilled.
Thank you so much for making this such a wonderful experience for our daughter,...
