I recently ordered the honey butter chicken from Rise Biscuits Donuts in Columbia through Seamless, and while the food itself was great, there were a few aspects that left me slightly disappointed.
Firstly, let's talk about the taste. The honey butter chicken was absolutely delicious. The chicken was cooked to perfection, with a crispy exterior and tender, juicy meat inside. The honey butter glaze added a delightful sweetness that enhanced the overall flavor profile. It was a truly satisfying dish that left me wanting more.
However, one aspect that I found slightly disappointing was the portion size. Considering the price, I expected a more substantial serving. The portion was on the smaller side, which left me feeling a bit unsatisfied. It would have been great to have a bit more chicken to fully enjoy the dish.
Another issue I encountered was with the delivery service. While Seamless usually provides a convenient and reliable delivery experience, this time, the driver did not deliver the food to my door as expected. Instead, they left it at my garage. This was not a good look, as it felt unprofessional and inconvenient. I would have preferred if the driver had followed the usual protocol of delivering to the designated address.
In conclusion, the honey butter chicken from Rise Biscuits Donuts was undeniably delicious, but the portion size left something to be desired, especially considering the slightly higher price. Additionally, the delivery experience was not up to par, with the driver not delivering to my door. Despite these drawbacks, the taste of the dish itself was great, and I would still recommend giving it a try if you're in the mood for some...
Read moreAlways a delicious meal at Rise! This girl misses the South and they do a fab job at recreating a glazed blueberry biscuit (similar to bo berry biscuit at Bojangles) and leveling up the fried chicken biscuit with pimento cheese and options to add egg and cheese, etc. My favs are the Sweet Country Blues and Southern Chicken (I like to sub with the cheddar biscuit and add Texas Pete from the drink station condiments), husband likes the Buffalo. The biscuits are the perfect mix between flaky and soft. I can't imagine why the reviews aren't higher. Sure our online order wasn't ready exactly when planned but our meal was made fresh, and hot which was preferred to the alternative...and the manager refunded us anyhow.
Update 1: We have been 3x now and each time had to wait about 30m past the time our order should have been ready. The sausage was overcooked, shriveled, and rubbery in the edges (likely sitting in a warming platform) and the food was warm but not hot. We will keep going back in hopes they fix these service issues, it's too good not to.
Update 2: After being sent a voucher due to our last experience, we decided to give them another shot to try the hot honey biscuit. Our order was perfect and even ready a couple minutes earlier than expected.
No pictures because umm I couldn't wait to annihilate my...
Read moreDO NOT WASTE YOUR VISIT. Find another Rise location. The service is absolutely atrocious. It is THE reason this establishment will not be visited in the future. Situation: Came in 30 minutes after opening and it took them 8 minutes to greet or wait on me. I was the only customer. Waiter was obviously tired and behind on his opening duties. After getting food he came out and began talking politics and world affairs in a COMPLETELY inappropriate manner. I could not believe the amount of racism he was saying as an African American. He actually used the word lynched. Absolutely inappropriate. I completely agree with other reviews that this business is completely mismanaged and cannot hire quality employees to represent the brand. It was so bad, I contacted the franchise. It is such a shame, because this is one of a small handful of “chain” restaurants we visit. The sandwich was assembled sloppy and the wrapper was covered in grease. Also, with only one customer they actually got my order incorrect...there is no attention to detail at this location. I was the only person with an order and it was wrong. The floors were also dirty just after opening, I very much question the entire process and will not return to this location. The eat in section is extremely small but in good weather the patio in...
