I would NOT advise anyone to be a customer at Sofas etc given my experience. Look for alternatives if you want to get your items on time!
I first came to the store back in January ‘21 to order a sectional. I had a good idea what I wanted, but given significant delays with the sales rep that I worked with (for which I have email evidence), the order was not entered until a month later.
I was initially told that the order could take ~16 weeks to arrive, taking into consideration supply chain interruptions due to Covid. However it took 6 months! Much longer than expected, and it seems like the pandemic was just being used as an excuse.
The worst part was that when my 3 piece sectional arrived in August, the order was wrong! The middle section they sent was a 1 seat instead of a two seat chair. Then I was told it would take 6-8 weeks to be delivered. Yet again that was false information, and the delivery date was pushed back to November!
Yet SOMEHOW they messed up the order AGAIN! When my delivery came in November, it was a single seat swivel chair instead of the 2 seater armless loveseat I need to complete my sectional.
I walked into this store in January; in November my order is still not complete. It has been a significant inconvenience in my house, and I have been unable to proceed with other aspects of decorating my home because I have been waiting in this sectional in order to position other things around it.
Please spare yourself the inconvenience of being in my situation and shop at...
Read moreI can't understand all the positive reviews of this place. We were there this morning and it was the worst shopping experience of any kind we've ever had. I've never actually left a negative review online before, but I couldn't let this experience pass. The staff was right on top of us the entire time--what am I going to do, steal a couch?--and when I asked if they had any fabrics without flame retardants, I was basically treated like an ignorant child and told that doesn't exist because "it's the law". It isn't the law, and many companies are phasing them out. In fact, upon walking further into the store, I found a Rowe Furniture sign with their Eco symbol on it, which a 10 second google search shows that those fabrics are made without flame retardants. I heard the sales person and manager (?) talking about my question, so I pointed out the Rowe Eco symbol to the manager, who wouldn't even do me the courtesy of turning around to face me. She sat behind the desk with her back to me, said "I know the law" and then stopped acknowledging that I was talking to her. As a polite, 40-year-old adult who was willing to drop significant money on their furniture, I can't understand what my husband and I did to deserve such a rude, patronizing attitude. Furthermore, why would you choose to be willfully ignorant of the products in your own store? Read moreBad Experience! I gave Sofas, ETC one star because we was greeted when we came into the store. At first I was fine with Jane, the sales rep ... that is until we told her we had just started looking at sofas and that we had been next door to the Indore Furniture Store, and we just started looking. Unfortunately, she put me off right off the bat when she made derogatory remarks about the other other furniture store next door (Indoor Furniture) telling us telling us that their furniture was not well made and that "they are NOT designers." Well, I was insulted because pieces at the Indoor Furniture Store. We happen to like that store, but I was willing to give Sofas, ETC. a look. I do not like when sales people go negatative on their competition. I find that kind of attitude annoying and rude. Tell me how great your store and furniture is but don't tear down the competition. I should have walked out immediately but I thought I'd give her another chance. When I said that some of the sofas at her store were not right for me becaus, being 5 ft tall I sat back my legs shoot straight out and my feet don't touch the floor. Her answer to my problem was to do as she does. She said, "well, you can sit the way I do, and cross your legs and face sideways" or you can put pillow behind you back.
