I went to the new location for the first time this evening with my sister and nephew. They arrived before me, had already ordered food and were on their first drinks. I was not greeted by any servers or bartender upon sitting down. I was never handed a menu or asked if my order could be taken. My sister ended up sharing the menu she was provided and explained that their bartender Josh hadn’t come back to the bar yet. Turns out there was a mixup with the food ordered and it somehow was placed on another party’s tab. After the mixup was fixed and my sister and nephew got the food they ordered, I proceeded to try and order a drink and food for myself. I was told to place the order with a bartender so I asked the bartender who was there (not Josh, he still hadn’t returned) if I could order the Maui Mule, which is on their cocktail menu, and she said “I don’t know what that is.” So I said “it’s on the cocktail menu” and she said “that’s for the other side we don’t make those on this side.” Mind you this is my first time there, so not sure how I was supposed to know that one side of the same establishment would have a different menu, and my sister was drinking a cocktail she ordered from that same menu. So I said “ok, can I have the cocktail menu for this side?” She then said “we don’t make cocktails.” I’m super confused at this point. My sister is drinking a cocktail she clearly ordered off the same menu she handed to me earlier. I look behind the bar and it’s a full bar, liquor and all, and they have drafts literally labeled “cocktail.” So I point to the drafts and say “so what are those?” I get no response and she starts conversing with the other servers behind the bar. She then proceeds to make cocktails for other patrons! My sister ended up checking her unprofessionalism and told her if she doesn’t want to serve us we can leave. Afterwards, I did order some food but it was never put in until Josh came back. I did end up getting the Maui mule. It was good. I’m not sure why I was treated so unprofessionally and was flat out denied the same service my sister was given at the same side of the establishment but by a different bartender. It was not a pleasant experience and resulted in unnecessary awkwardness. No apologies for the unprofessionalism while we remained, continued ordering, and paid for our entire bill. Josh was...
Read moreMe and two friends came for brunch today. It was pretty busy and seemed understaffed. The visit started with our drinks. My friends ordered the Irish Iced coffee which contains only cold brew and cold coffee yet they received a hot coffee. I ordered the Moroccan coffee which tasted like straight, hot rum.
For food, we ordered the powerhouse burrito with grits, which they informed us would also come with roasted potatoes; the chicken and waffles; and a Philly cheese steak (gluten free) with a side of fries.
When the food came, we only received the burrito and sandwich. The burrito did not have roasted potatoes and the sandwich had a side of veggies, which was not the choice I made. When I asked for the side of fries, they said they would bring it but it never came.
We were still waiting for the chicken and waffles and we finally found our server, who had not come to check on us, so we asked where his meal was since it had been a while. He said it would be coming soon and then shared it was delivered to the wrong table. To fix this, he said he would be voiding it from the check. After waiting a while longer, we asked for the chicken and waffles to go. When they brought it out in the bag, he asked if I also wanted a side of fries to go, which I declined.
When we asked for the check, he came back with the scanner to scan our card, without providing us with a check. After paying, they brought the receipt (by our request). We found the chicken and waffles had NOT been voided and we had been charged extra for the veggies, despite the fact that we didn’t order the veggies and never received the fries that came with the meal.
While the burrito and cheesesteak were good, the service needs a lot of improvement before we...
Read moreFrisco’s, WOW Wife and I went out for pizza in the Columbia, MD area. Something new, never tried before, went to Crushwa and walked out, just didn't like the atmosphere very much, never liked ordering and paying by app. We drove up the block to Frisco’s, use to be in the building where Crushwa is. ATMOSPHERE: Casual, comfortable, laid-back, unpretentious. A very nice neighborhood family pub that I would take my single digit Grands for lunch or dinner. STAFF: Khele, she was awesome, quick, polite, attentive, we never needed to ask for anything, knowledgeable of the food; taste and preparation. Her suggestions were perfect. I have spent more time in line at a bank than the time to be seated, see a waitress, order and get drinks, order apps, dinner, get it, eat it, pay the check. She earned her tip, she's a keeper. FOOD: Appetizer; My suggestion is the Crabby Tots. A min cast-iron frying pan full of tater tots covered in their house made crab dip. Delicious, just a tad spicey, 6 outa 10 on Chucks heat scale. Every where my family goes, we get their crab dip, on something, pretzel, tots, or plain. Frisco’s is so far the best. Pizza; The crust, in house recipe, has actual flavor, really great taste. Thin and crispy wood-fire oven cooked to perfection. The sauce is not out of a jar or can, sweet and tangy, complements the cheese perfectly. The cheese is a mix of Italian cheeses the create a blend the tantalize the taste buds. Add the pepperoni not spicy, but very tasty. If I could give more stars, I would. Chuck...
