At Christmas time I went to a local RTO company to get a PS4 for my son. We got declined? I said to the manager,...you don't do credit checks! He said correct. Then I asked how I got declined. He says good question, let me check on that. Next day I get a call from him saying it was from a previous issue with American Rental. Now there is just one problem, I have never had an issue with American Rental. Well, at least not one that they had the courage to tell me about. So being a Veteran of the US Army, and using the tools and training given to me during my 10 years of service I did some digging on my own. I'm resourceful like that! Come to find out, I went through a bankruptcy and my attorney listed all my creditors. American Rental was on that list. At the time I asked if I was able to do this and if it would survive like a student loan does. He said, "you have to list every creditor and no this is not a government back creditor like a student loan so you must list them and your issues will be done with them." So American decided they were more important than any legal representative and any court in the land and decided to list me as a "Skip" which now keeps me from getting any RTO products from anyone. The customer service was unbelievable. I walked in around 11 that day and picked out the things we needed while filling out the application. Everyone there helped with any questions that we had and explained everything extremely thoroughly as it was the first Time with rent to own. Every bit of furniture that was available there was delivered within a couple of hours.And then found out that two mattresses that we needed for a bunkbed we’re unavailable that store but that did not stop them from sending someone to a different location hours away to obtain those mattresses and make sure they were delivered by end of business that same day. I expected delivery when they said they were on their way but they went above and beyond by also putting everything together for me when I told them I would take care of it myself after everything is done.Coming off of military orders we were able to furnish an entire house within a day because of this company’s hospitality.
