on July 10th around 11:35am I returned 5 books in the downstairs dropoff at the desk. July 14th I got an email saying those 5 books had been renewed, so I asked a librarian downstairs what had happened. she looked them up and found the books back on the shelves and repeatedly claimed that I must have just left them out somewhere on the floor so they must have returned them to where they belong on the shelf. I am confident the books were dropped into the box because 1- I always drop my books off there, and 2- my partner had taken the day off (a Thursday) and I showed them the lower level of the library for their first time and showed them where we return our books. Rather than offer to remind all the librarians not to make this mistake or to even check the cameras to confirm whether I was right (or in her mind wrong), the librarian repeatedly claimed that I must have made the mistake. now, I have to return my books and anxiously watch for several minutes to ensure that they get scanned back in. I should not have to worry about whether books are being correctly checked back into the library or not. Mistakes like this could result in me being charged almost a hundred or more dollars depending on the books. everybody makes mistakes but denying the possibility rather than learning from it breaks the trust and maybe I shouldn't trust this library to return...

An hour before I left there was a guy going around talking about praying for people since they're black and he's white. He was talking about God and Allah out loudly (couldn't tell what he was saying). But overall it was enough to make myself and others uncomfortable in the space. As I've mentioned, I'm not from the area but this seems like a one off. But beware nonetheless and please tell him to leave you alone if he's there during your visit as someone said this and he...
Read moreNice employees, nice book sales, but the selection is unfortunately too limited if looking for non-Christian topics to research. (This meaning, how the Church frowns upon things like Astrology, Palm Reading, Supernatural, etc.) The library book search recommended I read a child's book (for a 5 years old) about witches and monsters. The Christianity book selection for research is quite massive. Kind of makes me wonder if there will be any improvements into the non-Christian reading selections, or if I should just stick to online searches. I like the library, and I like to read deep books, but I just don't feel the materials...
