This is the best place for beer in Columbus. Their variety and quality of rotations on tap and nitro is excellent. There is always something new and wonderful to try. About half the chalkboard is different day-to-day. The food is Southern Hoosier and German-inspired, mostly. There are also fish tacos and the "Chupacabra" wrap. If you're really hungry get the jagerschnitzel. This is probably the most "local" pub in the neighborhood if you want to get a feel for the community. There's a mug club to go along with Cheers-like congeniality and the usual suspects. Everybody on the staff is pleasant and friendly. It's a swell little joint.

We had the best, friendliest service today at Columbus Bar —just look at that smile! Abel was fantastic and made our visit extra special. The food was wonderful too! We shared the kraut balls and mushrooms—seriously, how do they make them so perfect every time? My sister and brother-in-law split a burger they loved, and I went for the Reuben. So flavorful, especially with that yummy dipping sauce. And yes, I had to have a root beer in a bottle—such a treat! 🍺 We didn’t make it in time for the lunch specials this round (only $9 and such a great deal), but that just gives us a reason to go back soon!

We stopped through tonight and add dinner there. Had the fish and chips and even after they brought out a new batch it was still mushy and nasty and not what fish and chips at least the fish portion of it should be. Sorry that we will not return. The waitress is very kind of sending and didn't seem to take the concern seriously.

What a terrible experience.

First, we ate here on a Sunday, and it appears the booth behind our's was the hang out spot for all the staff who weren't working. We were fortunate enough to hear all about who slept where the previous night. There were 2 members of staff we found particularly 'intimidating': one rather big guy with a beard who kept going back to the kitchen to shout at his bros, and a twitchy looking blonde girl were both clearly on something the night before, or were just getting their Sunday night started. They were up and down and in and out the kitchen the whole time we were there.

Second, the food was awful. Initially, we ordered a California Roll and the Reuben. A full 10 minutes after we ordered, our waitress was able to drag herself away from the social gathering behind us to inform us they were out of the corned beef. Another 15 minutes later, we got the California Roll and Mac & Cheese. The Mac & Cheese was gloopy and conjealed like it was store bought and cooked in a microwave: I'd have been better eating out of a gas station. It also came with what appeared to be chopped, grilled hot dogs on top.

I'd been told by a couple of locals to give this place a miss, but I'd read some reviews and thought it sounded like a good place to try a few local craft beers. The beer selection was basically 4-6 names scrawled on a chalk board up in a dark corner, with no description of what they were (the diesel oil stout was below average).

I don't normally review a place unless it has something exceptional or original, this is the first negative review I've ever written, and it's fully deserved. If I could, I'd give 'CB's' zero stars. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else...

I was in town for the night with my brother, doing my son of 5 for a national guard deployment. I have to admit that I was not terribly impressed when I first walked in. The bartender was great.

We popped in for a drink and, after being talked up by the bartender, we thought we would give dinner a shot. I'm not going to lie, I travel a ton for work and this was some of the best bar good 6 I've ever had. The kraut balls are AMAZING. My brother and I had the pork snitzal dish with the garlic mashed potatoes and my son had the meat loaf sandwich. We could not have been happier. It was truly impressive.

A tip, if you get the snitzal: split it with a friend. You will still...

So first I want to say the absolutely only reason I did not give more stars is because they have never updated their website or other online presence to reflect they are no longer a brewery or make their own beer. This was extremely disappointing as it was really the only reason I stopped in. However once there, the food was really good and they did have alot of craft beers on tap. The sauerkraut balls were really good, the tenderloin sandwich was awesome and huge and the Frisco melt was great as well. I would have rated alot higher if I wasn't so disappointed in them not having their own beer or at least updating their website to...
