Terrible experience, was very disappointed. Went here to get fancier body jewelry for my upcoming wedding to my partner. We are a gay couple. We waited outside (BOTH of us) which was totally fine due to COVID but when we were called in one of the employees asked if my partner was pierced and we answered that he was not, but that we were picking jewelry together for me to wear during OUR wedding, because I care whether he hates what I'm wearing or not while he marries me. They kicked him out because he had no piercings. How would you know if he was considering getting one or not? Maybe you could've discussed what piercings he does want and the prices for said piercings? Surely some of your customers are first timers. Well he's certainly not going to get any from you guys after being kicked out. Also, he waited outside too so he should also get an equal opportunity to shop there. We share finances so he is also a paying customer. What a terrible way to introduce people to body modification. If he didn't know me first I am sure he would think that piercing enthusiasts are all a bunch of gatekeeping snobs. After they kicked him out I looked over to my right and there's this big group of people that was allowed in all at once (almost completely taking up the capacity limit) and hasn't had anyone removed from the store. One of them was helping the another one pick out jewelry which is exactly what he was there to do. We felt very discriminated against.
The selection is tiny and very plain. I was looking for a septum ring and a set of hanger gauges. The septum rings were very basic, not very interesting looking and very overpriced. They all kinda looked the same. There were only three real options and the rest were just slight variations of those styles. My ears are stretched to one of the most common sizes and they didn't even have ten pairs of plugs in the entire store I could wear, and zero hangers in 1/2" sizes.
The building was very very old and run-down looking. Normally this wouldn't be an issue for me as I get that not every venue is going to be brand new and top notch, but if you're going to be advertising yourself as the best and highest of quality, that needs to apply to the entire store, not just the product. The customer is paying for the entire retail experience which includes the venue. It's hard to believe that this business is making at least $100 per customer and yet it can't afford basic upkeep/upgrades to the building? Your building is the first thing people see of your business and first impressions matter. But that's a nitpick, I guess.
I must say though, the one employee I had helping me was very good to me. She was patient and understanding of me having to look quite closely at the jewelry as I am legally blind, and even got some out of the cases for me so I could see what was available clearly. She did not make me feel embarrassed like I often do. However, it unfortunately did not make up for the overall experience and I won't be returning, EVER.
I really wanted this place to be good. I was very excited to do this all week but it ended up being a horrible experience. Went somewhere else and got exactly what I wanted AND we were treated better. It was very fun to pick out "The One(s)" together and I feel confident I will look stunning at the altar. So glad I didn't settle.
A note to the owner: The way you reply to other negative reviews is very rude and unprofessional. You are a business owner (and so am I, with hundreds of five star reviews and ZERO negative ones so I think I know a thing or two about this). Represent your business in a positive and humble way. Absolutely disgraceful how you blame your customers and make excuses when they have a problem. That is NOT how to represent a business. It doesn't matter who you think is right or who you think is to blame, you need to take responsibility for the experience your customers have or at least try to resolve it POLITELY. You are the only common denominator. I was not even going to leave this review until I saw...
Read moreThis place is absolutely wonderful. After not finding a place I felt comfortable in around my own town, I finally decided to look around elsewhere and came across Piercology. I had my lobes pierced with a gun when I was a child and was generally terrified after that and had no other piercings since. After a lot that has happened in my life over the last year, I finally decided to do something for myself that made me happy.
I have always wanted a daith piercing but other than that I was clueless with the process and what works for my own ear anatomy, so I booked a consultation. I walked in and was immediately greeted by the entire staff that was up by the counter. I was ultimately set up with Hazel and after explaining what I thought I liked and what my end goals were. They gave me a great plan for both ears and they showed me a great assortment that matched my current jewelry and aesthetic. They also were really patient with me as I asked a lot of questions as someone completely new to piercing aftercare and upkeep and worked with me on pricing to fit my budget.
After everything was set up, I was placed with Dylan (I hope I spelled it correctly!) and he was amazing as well. He was totally helpful in getting me up on the table as I have an old injury from a car accident that makes me unsteady and kept up with tons of small talk to keep me relaxed as I was pretty nervous. He checked in on me through every step and answered even more questions I came up with, with tons of detail. He even asked for my business card as I have a small business and really made me feel comfortable.
After all was done, all of the available staff looked at my ear and congratulated me, and Hazel took likely much better pictures than what I provided on this review. Overall, this experience made me excited to have new piercings and I cannot wait to see them again at the end of this year to work on my other ear. As a nervous beginner to this world of piercing, I could not be happier. They didn’t push me where I wasn’t comfortable, they saw me as more than just another number on the appointment list, and they were sincere and patient with me as I expressed my concerns and asked a thousand questions.
If you read this whole review, I am so sorry it was so long, but I rarely feel so incredibly happy with a company/service. If you are a newbie like me, take it as a sign that this is a safe place to begin piercing. I couldn’t...

"You don't have the anatomy for that piercing, do you want this piercing you didn't want or ask for instead?"
They use an invalid excuse to project their opinions on you. I'm not paying for an opinion, I'm paying for you to shove some metal into my face and trying to pose your opinions on me unprompted, and denying a service you're fully capable of doing simply because you think a piercing wouldn't suit my face, is a poor business decision and also horrible representation of what you stand for as a business who relies on the punk and alternative community to stay in business. Being punk, means choosing freedom over all else, and valuing your individuality. Going in here, as someone who's part of the punk community, and having an opinion posed on me, and denied a service all because of personal bias and opinion, was an embarrassing representation of the community they cater to and pose as.
Edit to add:
Not having the correct anatomy for a certain piercing, specifically the piercing I wanted would only apply if I didn't have lips at all. No other Professional piercing shop has ever turned me down before and upon doing even more research into the specific piercing I wanted, I've found that healing time is The Same for healthy people. I want to explain that when I walked in, the piercer took one singular look at me and then turned me down, she did not ask any questions about my history with previous piercings and my healing time with them. Not only did I find the healing time to be the same, I found Multiple piercing shops on social media Admitting they use the excuse "You don't have the anatomy for that" to tell you they think that specific piercing would look ugly on you.
I wrote this review less out of anger and more as a warning to those who consider going here, expecting to get a piercing you actually want. I suggest going literally anywhere else.
Edit 2: It's been a few months since I got my paired vertical labrets, the piercing they claimed I did not have the anatomy for, and they came out amazing and have healed just fine Without any complications. My 1 star review still stands as I've done even more research into the problem they claimed I had and still have come up with no reason other than their willingness to project their unsolicited advice and...
