My partner and I lived at The Pointe at Polaris for three years, experiencing both the Parkway and Lyra floor plans in Phase 1 on the third and fourth floors. Overall, our experience was largely positive, and we enjoyed our time here.
First, the location is fantastic. Being in the heart of Polaris means you're close to everything—shopping, dining, work, etc. While the apartment complex can't take credit for the area, it's undeniably one of the biggest perks of living there. That said, it is a very car-dependent area, so be prepared to drive for most errands.
The amenities and general upkeep of the property are a definite plus. The gym and pool were generally well-maintained. While the pool sometimes had its off days in the past, we noticed it has been kept in really great shape more recently. The commitment to cleanliness throughout the complex was also impressive. The hallways were vacuumed weekly, and the landscaping team did a fantastic job with the flowers and greenery, making the community feel vibrant and well-cared for.
One of our biggest surprises was how quiet it was. Many reviews mention noise, but that wasn't our experience. Living on both the third and fourth floors, we rarely heard our neighbors. Aside from the occasional thud from a dropped item or furniture being moved, we never heard conversations or daily noise. During football season, you might hear some cheering, but that’s to be expected and was never disruptive. Once in a while, a loud group would gather in the courtyard, but those instances were rare.
The apartment security was greatly appreciated as well. As night owls, we were out late a lot. And just about every time we were out, we saw security patrolling the garage. This meant a lot to us and made the place feel safe and secure. This doesn’t mean you should leave valuables in plain sight though. While The Pointe does everything they can to prevent break-ins, they did still happen, albeit very rare.
The leasing office staff deserves special recognition. They were always incredibly friendly, cooperative, and understanding. We never had a negative interaction with them in our three years there, and they always made us feel welcome.
The free parking is a great perk, as is the free EV charging. However, the stations were frequently out of order. I'm no electrician, but I wonder if the system could be upgraded to support the demand or set to limit the power draw to improve its reliability (Tip for Tesla owners: lower charging to ~24A to prevent tripping the breaker). I do recommend an idle fee on the charging stations though. Cars would finish charging then be forgotten there all day (guilty as charged…).
Unfortunately, our biggest and most consistent complaint was with maintenance. The response time and effectiveness were often frustrating. On a couple of occasions, our A/C went out during heatwaves. Because the outdoor temperature was just under their cutoff for "emergency" service, we were left waiting 3-4 days for a fix, even as our apartment sweltered in 80+ degree heat. On another occasion, our refrigerator started freezing all of our food. We submitted a maintenance request, and after they came to "fix" it, the unit stopped cooling altogether. We ended up losing an entire fridge's worth of groceries before they finally replaced it.
Finally, a note for anyone considering a lease: be aware of the surprisingly large early termination fee, which is three months' rent. This didn't factor into our overall rating of the living experience, but it's a significant financial detail to know if you might need to cancel the lease.
In summary, The Pointe at Polaris offers a great location, a well-maintained property, and a wonderfully friendly office staff in a surprisingly quiet environment. If it weren't for the frustrating maintenance and unreliable EV chargers, it would be truly be the perfect place. Despite that, if we could move The Pointe over here to us in California, we definitely would! Highly recommend to anybody looking for a...
Read moreRUN & DON'T WASTE YOUR $ - Pointe at Polaris is a too high for the headache and it has NOT been a full 2 months. Bait-and-switch happen with the price. I selected Lunar 15 months at $1,010 and was told right before moving in it was going to be $1,139. Paying rent online has a fee we all have to pay = $1,141.95 for a studio...not even 1bedroom!!!! Alex never told me I had to pay a water bill, until I received the email from Buckeye to pay and of course it is NOT on the lease document. And the move-in document doesn't have a water company listed. Legal? Safety issues: stealing cars or mess with it, doors, and packages are always in the lobby not in the pk room. I have a toilet that moves after every use. Now 2 days ago the hot water tank leaked in the eating area/entryway and in the hallway. I thought it was the washer. I called the hotline for only looked at by Ron also not repaired. After he left I realized no water around the washer so how could it be. Plus, I looked in crack at the back of the laundry door to see if Ron was doing anything and of course not. And he never had any tools so he never tighten the washer holes. *I had to clean up the water myself without fans from the property. I was nice enough to put my fan in the hall after drying my floors 1st. I am tired of the stress Don't believe the bull reply that follows this review. I can't move out without paying way too much to break the lease. Megan is the Manager here and she lies not only about the rent $, but the $500 gift card you will not get after moving in. The office call to waste time and excuses of maintenance need to come in the unit. The move-in day my unit was dirty with a mess on the blinds and I noticed the bathroom wasn't clean only to make like it was. For the 1st time a couple days ago I tried to use the inside of the stove, surprise it is dirty with white powder. And there's a long rode in stove that looks cheap white and not small on the sides of the burner like most brands. DOGS stop barking around 9pm. Update: The washer was overflowing on the 2nd request for maintenance. After posting the truth about maintenance doing nothing Megan left me a message that no workers are coming in my place for repairs. Three weeks after 2nd request without a call or email a worker with a key knocked only once very softly & without announcing his position unlocked my door to proceed entry. Until I said something. Yes, no repairs he just walked away but complete is the status on my account. *I tried to use the elevator on my side close to mailboxes after entering from the garage elevator because door was locked. The office will not post broken equipment unless for a few minutes. For instance last weekend the gym was closed do to water leak the sign posted then taking down short time later. But daily a posting of someone charging for his services to show you how to workout. *The trash area is horrible with open bags, door open from trash chute, with bugs. And you will have bugs in your apartment. *The water from the kitchen faucet & dishwasher stinks, with black slimy guck. I asked for the aerator to be taken off to be cleaned and of course not. *My expenses for all the substitutes are rising up daily without the amenities that I am paying for but not using. **Surprise to not have my packages stolen with the way deliveries are left all over the mailroom area and lobby entryway. *Blessed to have a roof over my head but at what PRICE that keeps rising daily from other expenses: bottled water since water is filthy, laundromat &/or rental without a working washing machine, higher grocery bills without proper use of oven and/or being dirty with a long rod, my stress from this place is effecting my sleep, and the repairs are effecting my body, etc. **Garbage of a place inside with thin walls, but the buildings look decent outside your unit. It's NOT Worth the money. You're trapped unless you get an attorney. My experience with Pointe at Polaris is the worst during my entire adult life (over 30...
Read moreI had lived at the Pointe at Polaris for 2.5 years, from August 2022 to December 2024, and must caution anyone who is thinking about living here that this place is NOT worth the roughly 1800 dollars for a 1 bedroom, or nearly 2800 dollars for a 2 bedroom.
To begin, the apartment quality itself. It's fine, if a bit small for what 1800 dollars would get you somewhere else, but the appliances and AC / heating all work fine. The utility bills were a bit high (150 a month for power is steep for a less than 800sqft apartment) and the water utility company is an absolute pain in the neck to deal with. The water, recycling, and sewer is through the apartment itself, so if you have any issues you will be dealing with them, which can be problematic seeing as management is ineffective and downright hostile in some cases (more on that later)
Next, the amenities. They provide 2 pools, one for each building (they call them phase 1 and phase 2 housing), a gym, a sauna, and a dog park. The pools are hardly open during summer months, and often other residents will invite their friends / family over to use them, so they are overcrowded and often not relaxing (hope you love squealing children). The sauna is an air sauna, and essentially boils down to sitting in a hot dry room for as long as you can tolerate it (if you use water they'll get mad at you). The dog park is admittedly nice, but they recently removed the waste bins, so tenants will throw the waste away in the regular trash cans (or leave it in the grass) , which as one could imaging, reeks.
The parking garage is a nightmare as are the trash rooms. People consistently go too fast in it, resulting in me seeing over 5 crashes during my 2.5 year tenure. Tenants refuse to adhere to basic driving safety in the garage, and several cars have been side swiped or broken into. They have a "security guard" that allegedly patrols the lot, but more often than not he just parks on the 4th floor and either sleeps or plays on his phone. Not exactly robust security. The trash room is filthy and often piles up, with recycling being collected maybe once every 2 weeks. Tenants also have a bad habit of leaving trash outside the garage entrances. Nothing screams "luxury" like rotting trash piling up in front of the apartment doors!
Finally the management, they are without a doubt the most incompetent, lazy, and unhelpful "professionals" I've had to deal with. Several times I was accused of having a cat in my apartment that I did not have, and when I moved out of the apartment, I was charged $200 dollars for "pet waste removal", despite the fact I NEVER had a cat in this apartment. They consistently refuse to address complaints, even when a fellow tenant broke into my apartment. They also refuse to address the situations in the parking garage or with trash. But miss a payment? $50 dollars on the spot, or get evicted.
They refuse to negotiate on any charge that may or may not appear on your account. You missed a single payment because they charged the wrong account, your fault pay an extra $150. Their late payment system is very unforgiving. If you are one day late, they will charge you an extra 50 dollars, and if you are 6 days late, they will threaten you with eviction. Which is absurd seeing as they are charging 1800 a month for a 800 sqft paper thin cardboard room with overpriced utilities and run down amenities.
For the price you would pay for a 2 bedroom 1300sqft apartment (~2800), you're better off just getting a mortgage with a 3.5 FHA loan. Why pay nearly 3k for a mediocre apartment complex when you could get a much larger space, townhome, or even house for the same monthly rate? Combine that fact with the simultaneously incompetent and predatory management, its a no brainier that you should skip this place. Look for a larger place for a better price, or bite the bullet and...
