Recently went here with really high expectations considering all the hype behind Condados, so that might be why I left a bit disappointed and filling like I missed something... The atmosphere of the place is really cool. It's like a giant garage that opens up when it's really nice out. You're able to sit either inside or outside. I liked that they used sturdy paper straws here! The service was alright, we had to ask another waiter for water and then for our check later. Our girl was busy which is understandable so I'm glad the staff is helpful. Started off with chips and pineapple salsa, which I LOVE pineapple salsa. Chips were good and crunchy, but surprisingly I wasn't a fan of the pineapple salsa! I thought the sweet fruit flavor intertwined with the salty chips would be amazing, but it was covered in some kind of chilli that overpowered the entire dip. I just nibbled on the chips until my tacos arrived. I'm no taco aficionado or anything, so I didn't feel comfortable building my own taco here. My friends also suggested last time they tried building their own, it didn't turn out so good. So I referred to everyone's reviews, I ordered all the ones I noticed mentioned the most; The Heater, Lucy's Fire, and Sweet Heat. They looked great, smelled great, but in my opinion, I didn't really like them. Sure they had a decent kick to them, but I didn't want that to be the only thing I was tasting. Based on the combination of ingredients mixed in these tacos, I believe they would taste so much better when the different flavors have had time to settle. These were so filling that I had to take 1 of them home. I was just a bit disappointed in the taste. I really do think this place is interesting, and I'd like to think that my tasteless tacos were a fluke. I'd be willing to try it again down the road sometime. I recommend readers try out the place, but don't go in with really expectations.

I went to the Condado in the Short North a few years ago when visiting a friend for her birthday. We just got appetizers and margaritas though. When we drove past this one when visiting my mother in law, I definitely wanted to try it again. We came in on a Saturday around 2 in the afternoon and there was a decent crowd, but we were seated right away. The decor is vibrant and fun with a space theme and awesome murals covering every wall. We started out with the spinach and artichoke queso. It was the special queso of the month. It was absolutely delicious. It had a cheesey garlicky flavor. The chips were fantastic as well. For our meal, my husband and I split 3 build your own tacos and the Korean pork belly taco. I have to say that I liked the build your own more. They were a lot bigger and had more flavors, but everything was really good. The tacos were huge. We could have split 3 instead of 4. We did The specialty shell options which were a dollar more, but I thought they were worth it. They added a lot of flavor to it. They have so many options for meats, toppings, and sauces. There are plenty of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options as well (if you care about that). Overall, we all loved our food and would definitely come back again. I would highly recommend this place!

It's a different way of ordering and takes a bit of getting used to it. Once you do, you understand it works. You order exactly how you want it. The food itself is decent. Tacos are pretty standard size. If you don't like it, you have one person to blame since you built it. Margaritas are good. The original is more on the sour side of the sweet/sour scale. They do have several fruit flavor margaritas also. I've gotten pitchers there in the past. They are pretty expensive for what you get (pitcher full of ice), and I think it was $38-40. The atmosphere is sitdown restaurant style with a mix of hi-tops and standard tables. Chairs were not comfortable. There was plenty of seating. The outdoor seating area looks really nice. The bar was large and spanned the back wall of the restaurant. The walls are decorated graffiti style. This particular visit, I had nachos, and it was served on a smaller cookie sheet but a large portion.

Great food and great service from Caitlyn.

Updated review:

The main reasons I keep coming back here are the decent food and the extreme accessibility, given that I live upstairs. However, I no longer dine in because the service at this location is extremely inconsistent. Today, as usual, I had a pickup order, and when I approached the host stand, a lady with white hair greeted us. I informed her that I had a pickup order, and she initially pointed to the bar. However, she soon realized she hadn't been helpful and went to check on our order. The order was ready, and as I was leaving, I accidentally kicked a laptop cord that was dangling on the customer side of the counter, instead of being on her side. Before departing, I politely mentioned that I wasn't sure if she was aware of the cord and that it posed a trip hazard for others. Her response was rather rude as she replied, 'Yes, I know,' as if I were foolish for bringing it up. I just wanted to highlight that it's becoming increasingly challenging to eat here because even when I order online to minimize interactions with the staff, it appears they will always find a way to...
