UPDATE 3: Over a week without hearing back from anyone. I even sent a message to corporate at the same time of my original posting and have heard NOTHING. So much for City BBQ and their great customer care. I am VERY disappointed in their lack of response.
UPDATE 2: 5 Days without hearing from anyone.
UPDATE 1: It's been 3 days since the 'owner' said I would hear from someone "very soon". I haven't heard from anyone.
DO NOT GO HERE! Hannah and Skylar left much to be desired. They forgot my sides of ranch and honey mustard so I had to go back. When I called I was told that it would be ready for me when I arrived. IT ABSOLUTELY WAS NOT. I had to wait for more than 10 minutes. When I called to complain I spoke with Skylar who had the nerve to tell me that their food stays pretty hot so it should be warm when I got home. It would never have been as warm as it should have been and I find that comment highly disrespectful. I requested the manager (Hannah) who Skyler immediately said was unavailable but would call me back before closing. That didn't happen so I ended up calling after closing and Hannah picked up right away, clearly knew of the issues but somehow hadn't returned my call? She said the call center did not tell her that she was supposed to have it ready before I got there. Today I called and spoke to the exact same call center representative as that night who told me that the expectation is and has always been that they have whatever was missing ready for the customer by the time they get there. I had told her I'd be there in 2 minutes and that she had relayed that to Hannah.
Additionally when I spoke to Hannah, I told her we always order the more cowbell sandwiches which never have fat on them but this time the meat was ALL fat. None of it was edible. There was 1 green pepper on each sandwich and no onion. She told me that's typical and that I should order it lean next time. There was not one piece of real meat. It wasn't stacked like usual. It was quite literally just 1 piece of fat on each sandwich and completely inedible. I went out and got something else for dinner.
Dublin and Grove City are so much better. I'd rather drive to the opposite end of town than drive 5 minutes up the street to this one.
Shame on you both, neither of you should be managers. You need some serious quality control and customer service training. I'll be contacting...
Read moreI just left from City Barbeque and definitely will not be returning back to this location. City Barbecue Polaris used to be really good when it was located at Sancus/Lazelle. This Gemini location, folks spend more time chatting and idle than trying to ensure customers are good. I ordered the Brisket and Burnt Ends by the 1/2 pound = $25. The portions seemed skimpy by comparison to the old location. First the Brisket, at the old location the staff used to pull out the full Brisket in full view of the customer, ensure it was juicy, and then cut it (plus add a couple extra pieces). This Gemini location, I didn't even see where they got the Brisket from, and I'm at the counter. When I got to taste it, it was really dry. It tasted and felt like it was a prior night's Brisket reheated (which would explain the dryness). I couldn't eat it (waste of money and time). The Burnt Ends were greasy (not juicy), and then I found out they are Fried!? Why is a Barbecue spot frying meat?
Again, this place is just not worth it. The worst part is looking forward to BBQ to be so disappointed. Either they are reheating meats to save money, or someone is over cooking the meats. Plus, their portions (including sauce) are skimpy compared to the...
Read moreI love every bit of the food that City Barbecue makes and I try to always recommend everyone tries it at least once. I have never had one person say that they weren't happy with their food there. City Barbecue hands down, makes the best ribs and corn pudding I have ever had in my life. I would HAPPILY drive an hour and a half just to get their Deluxe City Sampler any day. Worth every penny every time. I literally made my brother family make a special stop today just to get 2 Quarts of the corn pudding. I was behind someone trying to decide which side they wanted and I recommended the corn pudding and talked them into it. After ordering, the worker Sam pointed out that for a couple dollars more, I could just get a whole pan of corn pudding. I happily accepted that, and she went and got the manager and he helped swapped the prices around and made it happen. I will always recommend City Barbecue to anyone. Especially this store, with how friendly everyone always is. I already can't wait to go back and get the Deluxe City Sampler again soon for sure. Keep up the good work. AWESOME STORE. Always feel welcome and more than satisfied with anything...
