I came here on 5/2/17 towards the end of the day to purchase a sectional and dining room set. Initially upon entering I received good customer service, our sales associate and assistant manager at the time, Treneice was helpful and gave us space deciding our choices. We chose a sectional and purchased the Guardian Warranty and was told that our sofa was getting a chemical treatment to combat stain. We went home and set up our sectional quickly, and came back the next day 5/3/17 to pick out our dining table. Unfortunately, the table we chose didn't have the bench that came with it (After we were told all items were in stock). Eddie (store manager i guess) told us he'd get it from another store and get it for us within 2 DAYS or Friday. As i'm assembling the chairs and tables I saw a couple of little black jumping bugs that came from the table boxes (didn't know they were fleas until later). I didn't really pay much mind to it, swept away debris hoping that would be enough. Next day I notice bites on my 2 year old, but I just put some anti-itch ointment on him and didn't really put two-and-two together. So I'm sitting on my new couch and I felt something crawling on me, it was a flea! next couple days the flea appearances keep happening! on the couch, on my rug, my house had gotten infested with fleas we don't even have pets!!!!! I call American Freight on 5/6/17 because I still never received my bench, Treneice originally told me it was in stock that she had 7. I asked her how big it is, and if it would fit in my trunk and she tells me she's gonna "look" at it and says that it would fit in my trunk. The call randomly got disconnected and when i call back she tells me that there aren't any in stock that its an error in the computer and told me to wait until Monday because thats when they actually process transfers from other stores! (and she looked at it mind you) So its Sunday 5/7/17 and these fleas are everywhere so i call again and spoke to Eddie and he tells me that they fumigate but that he would check the trucks to make sure, he wasn't sympathetic whatsoever i ask him the speak to a manager above him and tells me that Harris his regional manager is not in right now but that he would email him that day and that i should receive a call tomorrow Monday 5/8/17 because harris was apparently going to the store. So its Monday 5/8/17 I decided to call since they never reached out to me not even about the bench and while i'm on the phone i express to Treniece (was said harries wasn't in and didn't know when he would be) how disgusting it is that i now have a flea infestation in my house and i'm fed up by now and ask her to refund my purchase so i can start over somewhere else and get my exterminator to handle the nuisance. She tells me she'll give me an answer today. 15 mins later she tells me she spoke to Harris and i can't return the furniture because its been a week and in few words she basically tells me i'm lying because they passed their pest inspection 3 days prior. Really?? I'm sure in a huge warehouse it would be hard to see a flea, but its very apparent in my home! I left a message to the VP of sales for the area Kevin and he still hasn't returned my call...Do not waste your time here keep your families safe! Now i had to set up a doctors appointment for my son because yes it might just seem like its "just' fleas but they carry and transmit several potential illnesses and the people here at American Freight apparently don't care about...
Read moreBought my son a mattress and box spring last spring. Everything was fine until he sat on the edge of his bed and the box spring broke. Two of the rails just busted right off the frame. I called and spoke to Nelson, he told me to send an email and that the Manager would be in touch with me Monday. more than 2 weeks later I have heard nothing. My purchase is still under warranty not even a year old. Whoever heard of a box spring breaking?? I just called again and the manager Javier is on a conference call and too busy to speak with me. I guess like all the other posts, they don't honor the warranties and are too busy to take care of the problem. I'll wait till the end of the day for a call back. I hope Javier calls, the power of negative social media speaks volumes! 5/5/2018 I have called two more times and was told that Jorge was the manager and was unavailable and the second time I was told that Joe was the manager but was too busy to come to the phone. I have not received any phone calls or emails in return. I have not even gotten a response to this review. lol I guess they are too busy! People their products a cheap and they do not honor their warranties. My next step is to go see them in person and try to contact their home office. From the other reviews, I'm not expecting much. Maybe I need to look into small claims court.
7/4/2018 No phone calls. No emails. No response! Do not shop here! They are lying thieves! I have personally gone in to see if they would honor the warranty and they said there is not warranty! I have been trying for a year to get them to honor the warranty that I have in writing on my receipt and on the mattress to no avail. They lie. They avoid you at all costs, unless you are giving them money. They even make up their names when you call. I was standing behind Jorge while I was on the phone and he said he said Jorge wasn't there anymore! I tapped him on the shoulder, while we were both still on the phone told him who I was and he ran to the back and hid. Not one person offered to help me, unless I was buying. They told me that I needed to talk to Jorge and he wasn't in that day! Biggest lying jokes that ever existed! We went to Orlando location to look at stuff so that when we go purchase a mattress near the new house in Apopka we'll have a better idea of which model we're looking for. We specifically mentioned this to the staff, so that they don't waste any time tying to sell to us if we just plan to purchase somewhere else. But of course Eddie, the employee, convinces us that he can make the transfer no problem, that he checked for stock there and can sell it to us here so we can easily pick it up there the next day. He seemed to be genuine and helpful, even went and told us his VP is in that other location that he can make all the arrangements and that if there's any issue he can call his Vp and clear it up. So we went for it, scheduled to pick it up two days later on Monday. Monday comes around we call the other location to give them heads up that we are on our way to pick it up, and of course they tell us (with an attitude - which my guess is because they lost out on commission at their own location) that the mattress is actually NOT in stock and to call back in a week or two. So we call Orlando location to try to talk to Eddie who is in but apparently "too busy" to talk and have to explain to three other people the situation to try and get some help. Afterwards we finally speak to Eddie's daughter who we met the day of the purchase, and she tells us there's nothing they can do, that we could come pick it up from there (specifically what we told them from the start we didn't want to do, because we have only a sedan and that's a long ride from Orlando to Apopka in traffic with that strapped on, and it would just be extra time and effort when the other location was more convenient) or that we could wait until the other location got stock, which they couldn't even tell us an estimated time.
