Mamazzita Gastrobar — Restaurant in Oak Ridge

I went here for a date night. It was a nice on the inside and the food was actually good. Now the 3 reasons reason I’m leaving 2 star is because , first, I used the restroom , so happens the assistance server who handles food is in there also, ok …. But when he finished using the urinal, he leaves, I did not see him wash his hands. I requested new straws for my wife and I because he opened them with his hands prior, at this point I don’t trust the cleanliness. Next, we ask about a cocktail with no description on the menu. My servers didn’t know what came inside it. Then a question about the food, also unsure what it’s made from, but they did get me answers…. Eventually. Now when I really got upset, was after having a few drinks, spending a good amount of money, and just getting comfortable for the club part of the night the greeter comes to me and says ‘hey we have another reservation for this table, I’m going to need to guys to move to another table.’ Like what?! There are plenty of other tables open. I was still in the process of buying more drinks, and I didn’t want to move my seat that my wife was still eating at. My response was, give me the check I will never return. I regret spending my money in here, I will not be returning. I don’t trust the cleanliness of the people inside. No one knows what they are serving, and you might get kicked out of the table you are having dinner at. I found this ridiculous . And the ‘mamazitas’ weren’t all that since they wore sweaters most of the time. First and last time....

I need to remove a star: 18% service charge is included in the bill. For two people. Then they ask for a tip on top of that. No bueno.

Food is solid, drinks were great, service is unprofessional and inattentive. Tostones were good, yuca fries on point, chimichiri weak af, but tuna tartar well executed. We watched every table and not one had acceptable service. Not one, even the lone kid w 5 girls in a private area. The kitchen and bar worked well and fulfilled their roles while five servers in Hooters gear couldn’t handle a handful of tables. None of them spoke fluent English, or any language other than Spanish. The hookah and bottle service menus were not publicly available.

Honestly, looking at other reviews of service, it’s pretty obvious they were more concerned with optics than actual execution.

In the end, catering to the shady underside of society is not a successful business model. I’ve seen the approach fail in NY & Chi, I have no reason to expect it would be successful in ORL. The concept for the restaurant is good but the execution is questionable.

Would have considered for a large group of South American friends but I can’t bring any other business associates here. And after my first trip, I’d never send more business here as I refuse to reward dishonesty.

Definitely will not be returning. We had heard this was an upscale lounge with good music and food. We had family over and decided to take them out. We are not big drinkers so we just ordered 1 moet. Then the dj annoced 2 moets for $300 and we went ahead and ordered the second one it wasnt brought out until 15min prior to closing. Not much after the lights were turned on th server has already rang up our card the bill was over $500 and when we were looking for her to question it she was no where to be found and apparently had left. It gets better.... then comes a VERY RUDE security guard and tells us we need to get up and go meanwhile we are trying to explain we are looking for the server and trying to finish the bottle he would not let us finish he interrupted my husband and started arguing and yelling at him! Then the manager/person in charge comes out tell the bouncer to calm down and walk away and he was dismissive and his way of solving the issue was telling us to just take the full bottle and finish it at home. At that point we saw no point in arguing and just left. We were embarrassed with our guest as we're were kicked out like animals. Needless to say its very overpriced $500 for 2 moets which was suppose to be $300 and 1 non alcoholic drink, they do false adversting, and it was a...
