Arelis Dominican Salon — Attraction in Ocoee

My hair was completely ruined at this Dominican hair salon . I had really curly hair and I wanted it to be manageable and less frizzy, I wanted a light keratin treatment done and explained I loved my hair and did not want straight hair. I was applied almost 2 oz of keratin on short my short curly hair.. I was sat under a dryer for over an hour , eyes were burning and my throat .. Then I was blow dried and straighten hair over and over. The process was horrible. I was told the curls would return as soon as I washed my hair in 72 hours... Which in my opinion was too long for someone who wants to keep their curly hair. When I washed my hair. My hair was bone straight.. Flat and volume less. It was so horrible I had people making fun of me at work.. I washed my hair with all types of products nothing would wash this keratin out of my hair.. I was told to come to the salon to remove some of it and restore my hair. My hair was completely ruined nothing they did made it come back. Now I'm shaving my head .. I am so devastated from this. I hate what they did to me. Not once was I offered a refund or a compensation... Please do not go there if you love your natural your hair. this was the WORSE...

I visited FL back in January and needed someone to hook my hair up ASAP. I found Arelis’s salon and she was able to do just that for $40. Fast forward to December and I’m back in FL for the holidays. But this time Arelis was trying to charge me $65!!! (Even though I have 3A hair texture AND it’s shorter because I cut it back in August). I informed her of this and she asked who did my hair. Since that was so long ago and my first time there, I had forgotten the hair dressers name. This led Arelis to respond in a nasty tone, “Well then tell her to do your hair.” Obviously this was a passive aggressive, condescending, and rude response. As a result, after being embarrassed at Arelis, I ended up driving 6 minutes to Dominican Technique Hair Salon and it was soooooo worth it. I was greeted by the sweetest lady who runs the salon. She ended up charging me $35 AND now I look fly for the holidays.

Overall, I’m mainly leaving this review because Areli’s nasty response and attitude was uncalled for. Perdiste una cliente. Ladies, if you want better service at an affordable price, do yourselves a favor and go to Dominican Technique Hair...

I just tried to get a wash and blow it went from $45,$55,$60, and now $75 and all I wanted is a wash I think they pick and choose their prices what’s label is not the real deal be mindful and this is today I see someone got a trim wash for $55 and the young lady hair was longer than mines , and mines is on my shoulder and they wanted to charge $75 for a wash no cut no trim no deep conditioning just wash blow And no my hair is on my shoulder that’s the length it’s always been at for years I normally tip who ever do my hair and it’s at $70 -$75 from $10 to $15 tip

Just be aware and mind you I’ve been going to them since I was 17 and I’m 32

I’m writing this because they didn’t even care customer service is low if you speak Spanish don’t say a word because they start to speak bad about you she has orange brownish hair first chair behind the cash register she literally said Haitian people don’t Tip in Spanish reason I don’t go to her now I’m going to find another Dominican spot just be mindful (customer service sucks )bt they do a good job at a good...
