Arirang Asian Market (Korean Grocery Market) — Attraction in Lacey

First, Arirang has everything Asian for all the recipes I find online. Stuff like lemongrass, daikon, seaweed paper, wasabi tubes, sushi rice, mochi rice flour, and miso paste, rice crackers, frozen meat for bulgogi and the bulgogi sauce. The prices are kinda high but if you shop the sales items it’s reasonable. They have dance club music or fast radio music playing all the time and it does not stink in there like other Asian grocery stores. It’s got products for Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, and Samoan. The owners are Korean and provide good customer service. And a large alcohol section with foreign beers and plum wine and kitchen utensils like rice bowls and tempura strainer. Even shampoos, too! And around lunch time there is usually fresh cooked food in to go styrofoam like those Korean sushi rolls and what I call glass noodles. I go...

I love Arirang. It’s my go-to for Korean grocery shopping in Thurston County especially because of all the kimchi and banchan options. The doraji-muchim especially is so deliciously sweet and balanced with spicy.

If you can get there before they run out the gimbap and the japchae by checkout are both so worth it for a snack or meal.

Arirang also has decent amounts of Japanese, Filipino, and Hawaiian groceries, and other smaller selections like some Vietnamese ingredients.

Oh and they can sell liquor now too so there’s shoju and stuff, not just beers.

Fresh vegetable selection is fairly small and you’d be better off going to Hong Phat or even just Winco depending on what you need, but the frozen dumplings selection more than makes...

A long time family run fixture in the community providing Asian foods and needed ingredients. They have fresh produce, and prepared side dishes. The freezer contains many seafoods that are hard to find and quick heat entrees. The dry goods cover most anything in asian cuisine. There is Japanese beers and sodas.
