Great place to stay. It felt very homely. It was very close to everything. My family and I stayed for 4 nights on a Disney trip. I only have 2 gripes. The top part of my wall outlet dd not work . So i just unpluged the lamp to charge my phone, no biggie. The second one however...... Well, we would wake up early and wouldnt get back in intill normally after 10 pm. We always left out around 7 am for brakfast and what have you. At night we would wash all of our clothes . after 2 days we realized we were out of fresh towels, there were 3 adults and two children in our party. Anyways i paged the front desk to receive fresh towels. They proceeded to tell me that we should be washing the ones that we have. Stunned as i was, they did bring us more towels. Other than that it was a great stay. But you do pay a resort fee for everday that you are there. The point is, is why offend your customer if you are going to bring the towels anyways? We are on vacation so lets act like it. Honestley it was a great stay besides the towels...lol Now the main thing when we vacation is safetey. The place is not gated, however, i felt very secure leaving my car at night, due to how parking is set up. We parked on the second level garage everynight. And although i never seen any security, you have to use your room card to use the elevator to get to whatever floor you are staying on. So a major Kudos to the Blue Heron for that. The staff were very friendly and for the most part helpful. Our room was very clean. Some of the furniture had some chips but overall comfy. Not dirty by anymeans, just used. The room smelled good as well. The pool area looked incredible and i regret not being able to use them or the hot tub. The pool area closes at 11pm and we never got back in time from the parks to be able to use them. The balcony view was spectacular. Now an added bonus that y wife used was the Jacuzzi Tub in our room. I say bonus because i dod not know about the tub intill we got there. My wife was so excited about the tub. Lemme tell you. We went to the Magig Kingdom our first day. Wegot there at 9 am and left right before 9 pm. My legs were cramping after walking that park all day. Needless to say the tub got put to good use that night. We will be staying again, and i would recommend the resort to anyone...
Read moreThis had been one of our favorite get away spots, but this trip is a little different; this whole year is different! The website still advertised free mini golf if you book directly, I was told they are no longer doing that promotion and handed a stack of bogo cards instead. We book for the mini golf (kids aged 5&11 love it there!), so to say I was a little disappointed would be factual. When we got to the room, my 11 year old with severe food allergies noticed popcorn on the living room floor and got a bit distressed, hubby swept it up and we moved on. From there, every surface I touched was a little sticky, in the time of covid-19, sticky is NOT what I want. Within 10 minutes of arriving, I was walking to the dollar tree to get bleach, clean ragd and other cleaning products. $8 and 20 minutes later I was scrubbing all the surfaces in the apartment and putting remotes into ziplock baggies. This is something I'm used to doing, 10 years of a child with severe food allergies has prepped us for this pandemic. I thought though, that this would be the first trip for my family where extra cleaning would not be necessary; sadly, I was wrong. We've had to wash my 5 yr olds feet 2 times because they've turned black from running around the apartment barefoot. I'm disappointed because the front desk had me sign a waiver to ensure I don't hold the hotel accountable if myself or my family gets sick while here, but they haven't done their part to ensure a safe experience for my family and myself. We didn't call the desk about the dirty apartment because we assumed this is the level of cleanliness that the management find appropriate, and we were not interested in switching rooms after I spent the better part of an hour cleaning the one we're in. We've frequented this hotel for birthdays and other celebrations because it's roomy, affordable and, FREE MINI GOLF! I can say with great certainty that my family will check out other offerings in the area before returning to blue heron again, and that makes me a...
Read moreIt's an older property that you can tell has been renovated a while ago so please keep that in mind while reading this. I'm only giving it a three-star because I will never return but it's because I'm a light sleeper. They have two towers. Tower one facing the lake is where I stayed. It did not have a well thought out floor plan. The master bedroom windows has a light (on the outside) that is always shining throughout the night. FYI these windows do not have curtains on them so there's a light blaring in the master bedroom all night long. The balcony was quite lovely however if you thought that a light coming through the master bedroom window was the kicker, try that rising Sun from the lake side balcony. The curtains do not close all the way and so you wake up with the birds. The walls are thin enough to hear everyone coming on and off the elevators, neighbors snoring, opening and shutting condo front doors, children laughing /playing /running down the hall and at the pools, cars driving by with music (and I was on the 11th floor). Now if you are not a light sleeper and can deal with the noise and lights, this is not a bad place. Now on the upside, this is a perfect economically convenient location. It only takes 10-15 minutes to get anywhere from theme parks, to restaurants, to shops, etc. The master bedroom of course had its own bathroom with a jet tub. (Only large enough to fit one person at a time.) The hallway does have a set of bunk beds. The living room has a pull-out qeen bed and a pull-out twin bed. I was only traveling with my sweetheart, but potentially you could have up to seven people in a one-bedroom condo comfortably. It has an additional bathroom in the hallway, full kitchen, washer and dryer, TV in the bedroom as well as the living room and they have wireless internet. Overall this is a great value for what you're getting but again I'm a light sleeper and I probably won't return but I would recommend it for anyone...
