The beach is beautiful and I highly recommend walking the boardwalk and not taking a trolley. It is a beautiful walk with informational signs along the way. I didn't care for the restaurant at the end and the chairs are expensive! There is red tide right now, which usually is fine and obviously not the parks fault BUT I asked the guy at the kiosk if there was red tide here and he was very adamant that there was not and was not hesitant to say there was absolutely no red tide. And there was absolutely red tide, and a lot of it! Dead fish everywhere and so many of the beachgoers were coughing, I could smell it in the air. If you had a respiratory problem this could be very dangerous and the guy at the kiosk should have been honest. It is a safety hazard that he was not and that it is not posted on all public beaches. Very disturbing.
