My Friend and I both went to dine in last night (Sunday) around 7pm. It was just us two, it seemed like a slow chill night for the place. We were then brought to a table where we both experienced the worst service we've ever had...I'm 19, she's 17. I truly believe we were being hardly judged by our server, I believe her name was Alexis (Brown hair and glasses) because we're young girls. I myself am a server and so is my mom, I was always taught to tip 20% and to think that she treated us terribly just because we are young? I believe this was the case since she was very attentive to another group (two parents and a baby) I could hear her being much nicer to them than she was to us, Along with that she never said your welcome to anything we said thank you to, Gave us a very nasty tone when we asked for bread because she had to go make more? Never came by to refill our drinks except for when the food came, Never checked on us to see how everything was, had to literally watch the restaurant for 10-15 minutes to try and find her and get her attention, finally another worker noticed we were struggling and went and told our server that we needed her, All in all the food is good, Service could definitely...
Read moreMy recent visit to California Pizza Kitchen was a letdown, particularly with their new Chicken Tequila Fettuccine. Having not been to CPK in a while, I was excited to try this dish, but it fell short in several ways.
The most significant disappointment was the sauce. It lacked the promised creaminess, instead resembling a thin, watery liquid. The only discernible flavors were an overpowering lime and a faint hint of tequila. The other ingredients, like jalapeños, butter, and heavy cream, were undetectable, leaving the sauce devoid of richness or depth.
The combination of watery sauce with red onions, bell peppers, and cilantro yielded a strange fajita-like experience but with spinach fettuccine. This created a strange textural and flavor combination. Perhaps a thicker, creamier sauce could have tied everything together and elevated the dish.
Perhaps the missing creaminess was a one-time error, but in its current state, the dish falls flat. The unbalanced flavors and watery texture were major drawbacks. It felt like a missed opportunity for a truly unique and flavorful pasta dish. While I might return to CPK for familiar favorites, I won't be revisiting the Chicken...
Read moreI've dined around Naples for many years and have to say that most of the exorbitantly-priced, fine dining establishments fall short of total satisfaction. There's always something; slow service, wrong dishes, cold espresso, etc. Then there's a casual dining spot nestled in between a couple of the aforementioned fine dining spots that hits all the marks. The food is excellent. The drinks are generous. The prices are reasonable (especially for Naples), but the service? Well, the service is extraordinary. Each time we have gone I have noticed something about the staff that sets this place apart from the others. Whether its a server recognizing that the glasses need refilling without being asked, or a waitress making a suggestion for a dish based on a previous request, or the extras that get thrown in with the leftovers, you get the sense that the staff is in it for the long haul and want you back; not just for the season, but year-round, year after year. This is my go-to spot in Naples. ...
