I would never recommend anyone to come to this place. We came to check out this museum for my wife's birthday with her family and friends. As soon as we entered the first exhibit, we were followed the entire time into every room by staff members while other groups were not, and some of these groups had very young kids and people who were loud and agitating. Some of the staff were rude and blatantly ignoring us when spoken to. But nothing compared to the one that was taking pictures of us. I literally saw the worker trying to take pictures of us but put her phone down as soon as she noticed I was observing her. As we left the room, she did it again and was pointed out by two people in our group. When confronted, she ignored us and walked away to a restricted area. I have to point out that this lady was also giving us a dirty look the entire time we entered the 3rd floor. When this was mentioned to the manager who turned out to be one of the employees that ignored us, did little to nothing. We are not even sure if the worker was even apprehended and made to delete the photos she took which I am pretty sure is illegal to take pictures of people without their consent in a non public area. This is the moment I have to mention that we were the only group with people of color. I have never encountered something like this I'm my life. This was truly a terrible experience. I feel extremely sad for my wife and her family and so much anger as to how this staff treated us. DO NOT GO THERE....

Read moreThe AAA Florida Tour book ranks the Baker Museum in Naples a "Gem" site in South Florida. I wholeheartedly agree. Why? Because we're not huge baseball fans and we walked away with a huge appreciation for five iconic Yankee players and their place in American history. The memorabilia on display for Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, and Derek Jeter is exceptional and one of a kind.
Oh, you're not a baseball fan (like us), then how about going for a glimpse of some original Rene Magritte surrealism, or some gigantic Dale Chihuly glass sculptures, or a cornucopia of garbage culled from sea in an artistic display you never thought imaginable.
This is no kids museum. This is a thoughtful walk of three floors filled with intelligent and provoking thought. On Sundays, the hours are short, from noon to 4pm. Admission is cheap, only $10. Best of all, our docent (Phyllis) gave us a high level one-hour introduction to all the major exhibits with background info that made our visit truly worthwhile. The drive from Miami is 90 minutes. On a cold day like today, an indoor experience at the Baker Museum is...
