My fiance and I lived next to the Phoenix True Food and loved going there during that period of our lives!
So naturally being in Naples we definitely wanted to go to True Food!
Unfortunately I would seriously advise everyone to STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE! We walked in were seated by a wonderful hostess but then the NIGHTMARE BEGAN!
It took our server about 10-15 minutes to greet us (no biggie). At that point we just put our whole order in. We ordered two prickly pear drinks two apps and two pizzas.
Our server never approached us after that moment. Someone else dropped off the apps and entrees. The drinks never came. No water refill from originally sitting down.
Finally my fiance discreetly had to wave down our server who seemed to be hiding and asked if we could get a water refill and to kindly let him know we never got our prickly pears and also to ask to clear the appetizer plates.
He got BEYOND irritated! Said something to the effect of “I DONT control the bar!” Never said sorry for not checking in or refilling our water or taking our appetizer plates. He just stared and aggressively grabbed the plates away. Still at this point we weren’t upset. We kindly let him know we’d just like a little water refill and at that point didn’t want our drinks please!
He came back immediately with water we said thank you so much. He stared at my like he wanted to hit me and walked away LOL! Then he came back AGAIN and put the two drinks on the table! We said sir no thank you the meals over! And he looked at me again gritting his teeth!
At this point we just said can we speak to the manager. Then the manager walks over and said how good of a server he was. We said that’s all fine no big deal I repeatedly told the manager we do not want a discount.
I said I would pay full price but I do not want to tip this aggressive server! I said I would give it to another server a women who we noticed was kind to the people sitting at her tables. When I told him this THE MANAGER GOT ANGRY! LOL!
He walked away and charged my card. Then this is when it gets CRAZY. The server starts standing near our table. As we get up to leave gets in our face and says loudly HAVE A GREAT NIGHT!!!!
I tried to give him some grace because he seemed to have a severe anger problem but truth be told I felt slightly threatened he would put his hands on my fiance not a man because well he was slender and kind of a sour attitude pencil neck geek!
Finally I had to say something and said excuse me why would you act like this he said WHAT I SAID HAVE A GOOD NIGHT. I stepped towards him and said you’re being sarcastic rude and aggressive he said I’m serving other tables. In which I replied with bad service they look miserable. You have a great night God Bless you. And he put his head down in shame.
I don’t know if he had a father that was a coward like him or never been taught how to act correctly from a wretched mother but you would’ve thought he was a tough guy. One look at him you can understand far from the truth. Must be the insecurity of being a weakling. None of my business I shouldn’t even wonder why.
Pray you get the women that we saw and not him or the manager who seemed to be under the influence of prescription opioids. I think they are thick as thieves and God only knows what they do in the parking lot before and after work! 👀👀👀
EDIT: After reading some reviews 6 months later they have not fixed the problem with the Unhinged weakling pencil ✏️ neck male Server and the Prozac Lexipro Zoloft freak Manager. It has only gotten worse! Which is sadly predictable. What also may be sick and sadly predictable WHO KNOWS if you go to the parking lot and look in some cars before or after hours if those two will be snuggled up in a sedan with a BLOW UP DOLL giggling “don’t forget to tickle...

Read moreLet me start by saying, we love True Food. I used to work nearby and would often stop by for lunch or go after work with the office staff. I love the changing seasonal menu, particularly the one they have now. Unfortunately, I missed it on the back side of the brunch menu so I didn’t get any of those items this time. The reason I needed to write a review this time, although I’m surprised I haven’t left one yet, was because of some of the experience that felt like a lack of effort. We stopped by for brunch and had Dan as our server. He was nice and polite. However, as he was bringing over our appetizer plates I kept seeing him trying to wipe something off the plate as he was walking with them and then even rearranged them so the top was on the bottom. When he dropped off the plates, I saw there was little pieces of something stuck on them, with the bottom one (that used to be the top) was the dirtiest. It just seemed lazy and lack of caring that he would try to hide the dirty dishes rather than just go grab three new ones that were clean. I had to ask another server for different plates. My fork also had dried food on it. So we just took the one off the table next to us. We asked for a substitution of salmon instead of chicken on a salad, thinking it would be upcharged fairly close to the $24 salmon salad on the menu but instead they kept the chicken off and still charged the same price for the chicken salad and then slapped an $11 up charge. Making the salad almost $30. If I would’ve known that, I would’ve had them bring the chicken and my son would’ve ate it. Lastly, my favorite dessert the flourless chocolate cake came out so fast before our entree dishes were cleared and it was room temp at best. The best part of the dessert is the nice hot cake with the ice cream melting into it. It was not soft since it wasn’t hot or even warmed. I would’ve rather they heated up the cake rather than rush it out. Like I said, we do love True Food and we will be back. But I just had to leave a review to hopefully have someone address these concerns so others will have a better experience. For close to $200 for brunch with two adults and a child, I feel like clean plates and cleaned tables between courses is fair to ask. I will update my review next...
