Exceptional Veterinary Care by Dr. Qasim For the past nine years, Dr. Qasim has been the cornerstone of veterinary care for our beloved dogs. His unparalleled dedication and profound knowledge in the field consistently shine through in every interaction. Dr. Qasim’s commitment to pet health is evident not only in his meticulous attention to detail but also in his heartfelt compassion towards our furry family members. What sets Dr. Qasim apart is his ability to address our concerns with patience and clarity, ensuring we are always informed and comfortable with the care plans. His expertise in diagnosing and treating our pets has been nothing short of remarkable, often finding the most effective remedies that bring our babies back to health. It’s rare to find a veterinarian who not only excels professionally but also genuinely loves their career. Dr. Qasim embodies this rare blend, making him an invaluable asset to our community. We are deeply grateful for his unwavering dedication and love towards his work and the animals he cares for. Thank you Dr Qasim for taking the best care of Jacob, Ziggy and Tassi! High Five to all the staff as well! I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Qasim to anyone seeking exceptional veterinary care. He is, without a doubt, the best in our area and a true friend to all pets and their families.

Dr. Phillips Animal Hospital came through for me in an emergency as an out-of-towner- I was so grateful and highly recommend them. I was in Orlando after evacuating where I live in Tampa during a hurricane. Staying in a hotel, my curious Siamese cat, Zim, jumped on the hot plate just after I turned it off from full heat. He burned his front left paw very badly, and I needed immediate care in an area I didn’t know. I found Dr. Phillips on google and called them and they could take me right then as a walk-in. I quickly brought Zim, and they got us checked in immediately. There was a vet assistant looking at Zim within 10 minutes. The vet followed up quickly after. They were kind and gentle with Zim (and me for that matter when I was quite shaken up) and got a treatment plan together and the meds I would need quickly. The final cost was fair. I was there for maybe 45 minutes total, which was fantastic for an emergency walk-in. The office was clean and welcoming. I thank them so much for their wonderful care of my burned kitty during a stressful time. I highly recommend them!!

When I moved to Dr Philips about 6 years ago, it was an easy decision to choose Dr Philips Animal Hospital for the convenience of being close to us whenever needed. Since then, I always took my little Shi-Tsu there whenever he needed medical care and I was very satisfied with the care we received there. But after nearly 16 years of unconditional love and boundless happiness, I had to bid farewell to my beloved little dog, Tico. Cancer and blindness had mercilessly taken its toll on him, draining his energy and strength. It was a Saturday late afternoon when I made the call and they were able to accommodate me in the very last minute. Thank you Dr. Qasin and your team from Dr Philips Animal Hospital for the professionalism and for making the process as smooth and caring as possible.

By far one of the worst experiences I've had with any kind of health professionals with anything, human or animal.

Our cats ate white chocolate and we brought them in to hopefully induce vomiting so that they don't get sick late in the night. We called the office and the receptionist booked us for an appointment and we rushed over. We sit in the room for 15 mins before the first tech showed up. She brought in a scale and asked me to weigh the cats. (Didn't know I was going to be eventually paying them to weigh my own animals). I informed her that we recently rescued them and they were still VERY nervous of us and are a bit aggressive with crates and being held in general. She insisted that I take them out of the cage and weigh them. I asked her for the gloves them wear to protect them in this scenario that are thick and can protect me from scratches and bites and then I'll do it. She left the room quickly and didn't come back for another 10mins.

Then the doctor came in. "We cannot perform any procedures on these cats because inducing vomit is a more extensive care that we cannot provide here. You'll have to go to another clinic. We can only do this type of thing for dogs". At this point I'm pissed because we called ahead for this reason to say why we were coming and that should have told the staff that, "Hey, they shouldn't go here, go here instead". The doctor said it was 10 mins away and he will call ahead to let them know we are coming. He leaves and another 10-15mins pass. I hear one of the techs in the back say our cats names on the phone and let them know we are coming so i was expecting them to come back into the room soon to give us the address. 5 more mins pass and then all of a sudden I hear them singing in Spanish in the back and laughing like nothing was wrong.

I'm pissed so I go up to the front desk and tell her that they haven't given us any information and she had a sticky note all prepared with jsut the phone number. I ask her for the address and she leaves to get it. I go back with my cats and a nurse had walked in when I was gone with my boyfriend still in the room who has shocked that someone was still in the room. She didn't know anyone was even here still. So we were forgotten and just left there while our cats could have been getting worse for all they know.

So we jump in the car and guess what? Its not 10mins away like the doctor said, its 10 MILES away and a 35min drive. Overall a highly inexcusable experience that had me in tears at the end of the night from the stress and the ANGER that was rolling off of me from their lack of care. I could never in good conscience not only for myself but for any animal involved come here again.

I saw also that you do declawing consults and that abolsutely DISGUSTS me. Cruel...

I’m really not sure why this animal hospital has such glowing reviews. I used to work as a veterinary assistant in a private practice, and I don’t agree with their business practices nor their inability to educate their clients on what they’re paying for.

The first time I was there, a man came in for a euthanasia and the reception staff lacked any sort of empathy for him or his dog. The man had to sit out in the lobby for about 40 minutes, clearly upset, with other clients praising their happy and healthy pets. If that weren’t insensitive enough, the staff was quick to make sure the man paid his invoice (again, in front of everyone with no sense of privacy or empathy).

I also had a personal experience that has affirmed that I want to switch vets. My husband had to bring our cat in during ER hours. Initially they gave my husband a few options, but made it very clear that they closed at 11, so they wouldn’t be able to do all of it. They concluded that they could treat her symptoms since the blood tests they ran weren’t concerning. Despite this, they had my husband sign a release of liability for going against their medical advice. They also gave him an invoice to sign and pay without going over what treatments he was paying for or why. The symptomatic treatment (not including the emergency visit, or diagnostic tests) was $300.

When I reviewed the invoice after my husband got home, I noticed there were unnecessary redundancies in their symptomatic treatment. Since my husband has no knowledge of these things and wasn’t educated on them by the veterinary staff, he assumed that he could trust their judgment. Our cat received several treatments and meds that were not necessary. They also tried to charge an extra $130 emergency exam fee, even though my husband paid that as soon as he arrived.

To top it off, every interaction with our pets that we’ve had with them (we’ve been there for wellness visits, a neuter, and two separate sick visits) has felt very rushed. They have exam tables in the room, yet they always examine the pets in the back without explaining what they even examined. Then the doctor peaks his head in without a formal introduction or any bedside manner to say his recommendations, while the door is still cracked open for a quick exit.

I wish I hadn’t waited this long, but I will no longer be bringing my dogs or cat to a veterinary hospital that doesn’t make quality patient care and customer...

The Doctor/ Owner here is just here to make some quick cash and charge way over what most Vets would charge. The Owner/Doctor wasn’t very nice or friendly. My dog got sick on a Sunday and my regular vet wasn’t Open so I gave Dr Phillips animal Hospital a call and they were able to fit me in on a Sunday afternoon which I was grateful for. I came in exactly on time and filled out some paperwork. It’s a very small waiting room and it can get a bit cramped. I was taken into a room after a few mins and talked to the Tech for a few mins about my pets issues. Eventually the doctor/owner came in and looked over my dog for literally 3 mins and then asked what I wanted to do. I am a former Vet Tech myself and My dog has kidney issues so I am a bit familiar with what needed to be done and what the issue was with my dog. The doctor/owner then asked if I wanted to do blood work. I said yes to that and then he asked if I wanted to do X-Rays. I asked what a X-Ray would do and he basically came up with some answer off the top of his head. A X-Ray was completely unnecessary in this situation and more likely a money grab. I literally spent only about 5 mins in total with the doctor. Not really worth a exam fee for only 5 mins of the doctors time. The Vet tech comes back after a few mins with the estimate to sign off for the blood work. The estimate was literally for $600. The blood work was $160 with a ton of add ons totaling about $350. With the exam cost and the bloodwork and the add ins and tax it was literally $600. I couldn’t believe it the cost. The Vet tech literally said that the Animal hospital still costs more then them. I know for a fact that the 24/7 Animal Hospital doesn’t usually cost more then that. Maybe it costs the same but that’s for 24/7 service. Not some little Vet practice like this one. After a few mins of talking with the tech I decided to just pay the exam cost and get some quick fluids for my pet. The bill was still $115. I honestly was very disappointed since this Vet had gotten such great reviews online. I went to my regular vet the next day and the total bill for the exact services that the estimate here was for $600 was only $250 at my regular vet a few miles away. Overall I was just super disappointed and shocked at the prices and the doctors bedside manner. I highly recommend Oaks Animal Hospital which is just a...
