Made a reservation for our group of 4 individuals. Upon arrival we were informed we were being grouped with 3 other people. Not something we'd been informed of ahead of time. Kinda awkward being in a small room with three additional people you've never met in your life, especially when the point of an escape room is working together. This resulted with a bit of chaos.
We did the potion room and didn't end up escaping, in a large part due to the hokey "puzzle" designs. Between it not being clear where noises were coming for some things as well as having to brute force a couple of things, and some puzzle solutions just didn't work the first time.
These were at times addressed by the staff chiming in over the room intercom suggesting to try something again, but that really takes away from the immersion.
My feeling here is that if you're going to be in the business of escape rooms then the solutions to puzzles need to work the first time. People aren't generally going to keep trying to do the same thing while expecting different results.
This was my group's first escape room experience and while we haven't completely written them off, I don't think we'll be back to Escape Boardman for the reasons...
