My son and his family got sick for Easter and our plans had changed so was trying to find a place to go that was open and not booked for Easter Sunday. We found the Royal Buffet after taking a drive on this beautiful day. I probably would have given a 4 or 5 star rating if I didn't feel rushed the entire time we were there. Me and my husband were amazed at all the buffet offered and the food was fresh and delicious, however before our first plate was removed we were given our bill. Our waitress said "here's bill take your time." We went back up for a little more and while eating she came back over to the table tapped her finger on the bill and said "you pay now?". I was taken back a little. We haven't been here probably not even an hour. I paid but we wanted to get a little dessert. So we were eating our dessert and I was texting my son to see how they were feeling and she came back over and tapped her fingers on the table pretty hard and kept saying "table" over and over, "we need table" and me and my husband were just looking at each other in disbelief, like why is she pushing us to leave when there were many empty tables all around us! I am always careful when a place is super busy to not take up a table, but I couldn't even finish my dessert. She was the rudest person we have ever had wait on us. Plus there was so much Hussle and bustle going on around us while we ate with them cleaning around us, it was just a little annoying, but I do appreciate that it was a clean place. We will probably never return because who wants to be rushed when you eat. I also have a condition that forces me to eat slower than most people or I get sick. I wasn't paying attention to see if she or other employees were doing this to the other customers. I hope not. She had said her name was Amy. I wished I hadn't tipped her at all but we paid so early on I didn't realize how horrible she would be. The food was very good though. I am so sad this had happened. Even though this place is al.ost an hour away from where I live I would have returned if this...
Read moreUpdate since "renovation" not much has changed besides the hibachi and sushi bar is open again. Prices had have went up to basically $18 dollars PER person with WATER. The place is highly over priced. Went to bigger better Buffett in Florida for less money and Florida ain't cheap. The door greeter guy is awesome, go there enough he will remember you and greet accordingly. The dessert 🍪 bar is terrible and basically a clone of every other cheaper Chinese buffet. The waitresses might take your plates away once before your finished and ready to leave, good luck with your drink refills coming without flagging one down and making a request. I'm not big on tipping servers, usually just passing along the hard work of others, but in Buffet places, it's harder for me to justify a tip doing empty plate take away let alone taking forever to do so. My suggestion for this place would be to put out less sizeable portions to the Buffet and instead focus on keeping the smaller portions refilled to keep food fresh and hot. I am a big fan of all buffets, but charging about or as much as Golden Corral is nuts. They make fresh cooked steak for their asking price. It is my hope that people stay away from this place until it either brings more offerings or lower prices. I know selections for Chinese buffet around here is slim pickings, but we can't keep biting the tab and being taken advantage of.
No matter what time you come in the food is never HOT. I came in the morning and the food tasted reheated type of texture. Noon and evening, still cold food. They always bring the check to soon and literally herass you to pay to the point you leave because they won't stop bothering you. Guessing to get you out and next in but it's never packed. The health department needs to check in on this place . It definitely has given bathroom issues. After coming in at 11 AM and the food being that bad I...
Read moreAlright - I’m going to be generally speaking about this place. Been going to this buffet for a couple of years now. Food is off and on nowadays. In my experience, the best time to go is right when they open or some time after that. It’s usually good most of the time I go, in my experience. However, when it comes time to paying, it’s like they’re forcing you to tip. It’s happens to me every single time. Every waitress there will tap in the tip area when they bring you their check. The way I see it is, they don’t really do anything that warrants a tip, or even a big one most of the time. They take your dishes away, and refill your drinks. Sometimes I go they’ll hardly interact with me at all and take a million years to refill my water. This is the only restaurant I’ve ever gone to where a waitress practically forces you to tip them. I’ve never seen that happen at any other restaurant. I’m not sure if that’s something that is considered acceptable since it is a Chinese buffet all run by Chinese people, or if that’s something that they’re just allowed to do to customers. Either way, for the food being off and on, I just don’t think it’s worth it for anybody to tip them a large amount of money. The reviews I’ve seen on here are ridiculous about the whole tipping thing at this place, so I know I’m not the only one who’s dealt with this. It’s like all they care about is a precious tip instead of actually serving their customers properly. For anybody that has dealt with this, I would wholeheartedly not feel bad for not tipping, if you’re ever able to get away with it, LOL. I’ve read the way they treat customers, especially black ones, and families that come in with their kids and demanding stuff like their birth dates, etc. I believe the whole staff needs wiped and replaced with hopefully better employees who aren’t solely concerned about a...
