On Monday September 9, 2024 I and my Wife were looking for a reasonably priced hotel room in the Brandon Florida area for one night. This wasn't an exotic vacation so we didn't need all the bells and whistles just something clean and quiet where we wouldn't have to worry about any crime issues. Upon searching on google I did see the Extended Stay America Hotel located off of S. Falkenberg and Causeway Blvd. for $94 a night. Now we used to live in the Brandon area not too long ago and we recalled when they built this area up with new Apartment homes, restaurants, car wash, gas stations, etc. It still looks fairly new and inviting all around this area. So we booked the room with confidence. Upon arriving to the hotel the wood and carpet flooring in the hallway looked dirty and the hallway smelled like marijuana. Upon checking in and gathering our luggage we moved to the elevator go to the 4th floor to our room. The elevator smelled like an old dusty bar where they never change the carpet! It also smelled like marijuana! When we get to our room the wood floor looked dirty! The room looked nothing like the beautiful bright polished photo on the website. I'm assuming that was the photo they took when the place was first built. It was raining heavy when we checked in and the clerk gave us bath towels to cover ourselves while we went back and forth to the car (to which I appreciated). I took those wet towels and cleaned the floor. You wouldn't believe how dirty those towels were after I wiped the whole floor! I have attached various photos as proof of this and other issues. Further issues were the wall socket looking like it was covered in grease splatter. Roaches in the bathroom, kitchen and on the wall. The website still shows the hotel having a fitness center. So I walked each floor looking for this. Each hallway wreaked of marijuana scent! I came across a staff to which I was then informed that there was no fitness center. Later that night I took our dogs for a walk and observed a couple of people sitting in their vehicles with the doors open smoking marijuana. I observed another group of males with alcohol bottles on the top of their car just hanging out. While walking around the building every time I passed an A/C exhaust blower it smelled like strong marijuana! After all of my observations it was clear to me that these activities and the way this hotel was ran is the norm. I just wish this was advertised. What is advertised is a beautiful, clean and quality room and environment. As a final insult upon arriving home and unpacking my luggage a roach fell out! I would advise the owner and managers to view the attached photos and understand that this is most likely what most rooms look like. Either you walk or have someone you trust walk the hallways, stairwells and elevators and Imagine being a customer who is looking for the clean polished hotel they saw on the website. I would suggest you make some drastic changes or update the website photos to reflect how the place really looks.

I stayed at this hotel recently and it was honestly the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in and I travel a lot especially for work. This hotel was my first encounter in Tampa. I have never been to Tampa before and this hotel really left a sour taste. I called initially because I was going to arrive later than I expected and wanted to make sure the reservation wasn't going to get canceled. Whoever answered the phone I presume from a call center, was rude and abrupt. He didn't ask for any information before hanging up. Whenever I got to the hotel, no one was at the front desk. I waited about 40 minutes before I finally got someone. There were 2 other parties waiting. The person who was tending to the front desk was in the parking lot smoking weed 🍃 that's why it took a while to find anyone. I used the phone at the front to contact someone, the gentleman called the front desk, to which I had to explain that we could hear the phone ringing because he called 3 different times. I thought he was maybe going to reach out to someone personally with a different contact number. When we finally got checked in, the elevator and hallway smelled absolutely horrible. I wish I could put it to words but one description was fish 🐟 It was just one of the many smells. When I got to my room it was nothing like the pictures online. I've stayed at the establishment before so it was nothing like what I expected. The beds, cabinets, everything! There were also roaches 🪳🪳 and blood on the walls and floor. Whoever is mopping the floors is using dirty mop water because the floors were also sticky. It looks like no one had actually cleaned the rooms. The 10 point inspection was a joke! When I pulled back the beds to check, there was hair and yellow stains on the sheets. I immediately walked back down stairs and requested a new room. The guy who checked us in kind of made a comment similar to — "well, what did you expect" when I told him that the rooms looked nothing like the pictures. The next room was pretty much more of the same. There were broken furniture. If I had read the reviews from Google, I would not have chosen this hotel. It was too late to try to look for another hotel. The only positive thing I can say is that the shower water was hot, the location is close by shops, and the manager (I presume) was really kind.

WHY ARE YOU BOOKING ROOMS THAT ARE NOT SUITABLE???VERY DECIEVING!! The first room given to me was 106 had holes in the wall top and bottom beside the bed I told the front desk she stated she didn't know there were holes and transferred to room 406 but as soon as you get off the elevator it goes downhill the hallway carpet is heavily stained and filthy AND smelled you can tell they are not doing even basic cleaning in the hallways! Going in the room was like a furnace! The curtains had holes in them, I turned on the ac to 60 but it still felt like it was 78 degrees in there. I decided to take a quick shower to cool down, the water suction was terrible nor did the water drain out!! Dirty water was up to my ankles. 1 hr later the water is still trying to drain from a 4 minute shower. I tried watching television but there was a continuous disconnection, so I decided to request the receptionist to come up and help, with attitude she came but was talking smack under her breath the entire time, It took her almost 30 minutes to get the tv running after removing wires and trying to reset the tv, it worked, I told her then the ac was not working and she said give it time and she will put a "work order" in for later...well 3 hrs later still hot. And the television was still blanking off and on with connection, so I decided to leave.. WASTE OF MONEY FOR SURE!! Why rent out rooms that clearly shouldn't be rented at all??

TERRIBLE- Roaches under the pillow, and in the AC Unit - we purposely went with this hotel in lieu of much other cheaper ones aiming for more cleanliness and space. When we first got to the lobby (after hours - around 12 am) the lobby was close. Called the 1800 number and they said they would contact the person on site for them to come and assist me. The person didn’t get to the lobby until 15 mins later. We asked if they could do something about the inconvenience, because at this point we were already tired and not happy. And the lady out front said she couldn’t, because technically they are required to show up within 30 mins or less. I had to pay the full price, we get the key to the room, and as we entered the room we notice there is a strong sweaty smell. We disregard it, because at this point is late at night, and as we make our way into the room we noticed there is a huge roach by the AC, we killed it, and then we undo the bed and noticed another roach by the pillow. This was our tipping point when we knew that was enough. We went back to the lobby immediately, and requested to a cancellation and refund.. THE PICTURES LOOK GREAt, BUT THE SMELL, CLEANLINESS, and availability for late check out makes any other place look better than this. Will not recommend unless you enjoy sleeping with roaches by your pillow, and waiting for 15 mins for the lobby person to get there. WILL NOT RECOMMEND!

This was the saddest situation I've ever been involved in. I am a cancer patient and the American Cancer society paid half the room at the extended stay America. It was very locked down because they don't have a service desk person except from 9:00 till 6:00 I think or 7:00 or something like that and the room was so sad. There was one tiny bar of soap for both of us and you got one washcloth and one towel no hand towels. There were no tissues and nothing like any other hotel I've ever seen. He was probably the saddest part of all. If you wanted to cook anything in the little tiny kitchen you had to rent pots and pans for $39.99 and each place setting was 19.99. all night long or most of the night we heard steps up above us like thunder and so I called the front desk and ask them to please ask them to quiet down and it still kept going on and on. Then the TV next door we can hear every word of the movie they were watching. My advice to anyone going to this hotel you're in for a real sad ride and I feel you're being jipped! I will never stay there again and while I'm getting my cancer treatments I'll find somewhere else to go!

Company is currently spending 1200$ a day to stay here for work. (17 rooms)10 days = 12,000 dollars. I asked for pots and pans . They said they would get them together and come get them when i wake up. I went to the grocery store and when i came back they said they were out . They gave me 1 plate a coffee mug and 1 6 in pot. Then i was setting in the chair and my key card fell into it and this is what it looks like under the cushion.
