Update on review hoping to update and feel that the intention is there but the follow through just isnt taking place A timely manner....no winter rye on my moms grave as of Feb 15, as promised for perpetual care. Correction on Sod I was told they would place Sod this spring, that they do still place Sod but by this time winter rye should have been put out on moms grave. Wondering if a board of trustee is over perpetual care and hope to find out...after many conversations and dates that I would be out no change, red clumps of dirt still running back on mom and dad's flat marker. I will be going out today before more rain to do this myself. My mom died Dec 22, 2022. I received the last time of 11:30 at Fairview Memorial Gardens to allow my mother to be buried before Jan 3 2023. I was thankful and began her funeral at 9 am to allow for 11:30 burial at the cemetery. That is where they get 5 stars cause I was upset when told I would have to wait till January by my funeral home due to bookings at the grave yard . My disappointed. Is with the closing of the grave. A large pile of dirt was dumped on my moms grave and even Dad and Mom's. NAME PLATE MARKER and the Vase with flowers remained tossed aside. The tent was removed right afterwards not left up for a. couple days like days gone by. The reason being not enough tents. The JOB you PAY for is not completed same day... So no packing of the red Georgia dirt, no clean up of the name plate well for my mom anyway. The weather on Thursday temperatures rose to 65 and clear skies, same for Friday Saturday Rain 70 percent but warm for next week. Anyway at 5,000 cost.... Vault for casket, opening and closing and vault placement. I expected the job to be complete same day. Even if a crew of packers of the dirt has to be hired. I was told the packing might take now a full week. The plots were prepaid and not included in this cost and the casket and all are a separate cost not to confuse anyone. So anyway. they also quit purchasing Sod for the lot, only grass seed. In the past Sod was always laid and the graves looked nice. The grave diggers respectfully raked down the dumped dirt, packed it and rolled out sod. A little broom was carried to wipe off the name plates and vase gently put back in the holder. Disappointed . as the service at Fairview Memorial Gardens is not what it used to be I was told they do 3 funerals a day max so 6 have been buried on Dec 22 and Dec 23, 2022 with 16 daytime hours to do this work. I recommend a separate crew be added to go right behind to complete the job. Both days were beautiful . The back Road behind St. Mark and leading back to crematory is covered in mud and pot holes. I did call and complained I hope to hear from somone who. can make a change as I have many family buried here and who lived in the Fairview Community many many years. I will update the stars if corrected on Monday, January 2, 2023. Very disappointed closing not fully...
Read morePlease do not come here to handle any affairs for your loved ones. It’s been almost a year and this establishment has not made honest on any of what they’ve disclosed they’d do as a result of a service failure on their end. In 2023 they mixed up my father’s grave site and ashes - a major service failure.
I was escalated to their manager Paula who has been unresponsive. No one returns my calls and emails. The one email she replied to was to tell me why they couldn’t make honest on their solution to me.
Last year they made a huge mistake with marking and placing my father’s remains in the wrong space in the graveyard. After months of dialogue with them they corrected the issue and apologized back in 2023 and offered to include a photo on my father’s gravesite in lieu of my request for money back for the grave service failure.
They’ve stopped responding since June and never adjusted the photo on my father’s grave. I asked for a timeline and details on when this would be fully resolved and I was told they have to wait on weather. (Photos attached) I wonder if they lied and never ordered the placard or are just don’t care about customer service and making things right when they are in the wrong.
These are people’s loved ones and I would think they’d handle these interactions with dignity, honesty and respect but that has not been the case.
There is only one individual here that has an understanding of service and that is Cornell, outside of him, the entire establishment can use a course on being diligent, service, being responsive, respectful and timely. Again, please do not waste your time coming here, go somewhere else and grieve without the added layer of having a funeral home and graveyard that treats you like another number on a list.
For this to be one of the largest things people have to invest in ~20k dollars later, this is a...
Read moreLike others that have posted negative reviews, I have had my own negative experience here (BUT READ TO THE END). My father passed away May 8, 2021 and when we went to make arrangements noted that the granite under his marker had been apparently run over and broken. We asked for this to be repaired and were told it should only take a few months (supply issues due to COVID - understandable). Fast forward through many calls and emails back and forth with "excuses" as to why his "special order granite" had not been replaced to early April when I was completely fed up. I was told by my initial contact that she no longer worked at this location and I was passed of to the new general manager - great.....
HOWEVER, Paula was VERY responsive and called me within two days of that email (on April 11). I was delayed in reaching back out to her. Admittedly a little salty and then just "out of sight, out of mind". By the time my sister nudged me about the status of the repair April 27) I picked up the phone, called Paula and the granite had been replaced. She sent me photos of the repair work, which was lovely. I truly believe that Paula has every intention of "righting the ship" and it seems that she genuinely cares about making things right for...
