Halo Hair Care Studio — Attraction in Solomons

Sought the salon specifically for extensions, in which I already have by a certified IBE master stylist. Unfortunately, my stylist raised her prices ($200 for 1 row) so I stumbled across this salon with a newly certified IBE stylist with a base level thinking it would be less expensive. She still requested a consult despite having the very same extensions & method and I live an hour away. I was quoted $150/row and scheduled the following week. The stylist walked me to the front desk and between me, the stylist and the receptionist throwing out a bunch of different dates/times - settled on 3p the following week (adding to my iPhone at that moment). I did not receive any confirmation texts or calls and walked in 15 mins early for my scheduled appointment and was told that I my appointment was at 2p and I am unable to have the service completed as she had another appointment at 4:30….. and normally would have been charged $180 (thought it was $150?!) but there was a miscommunication. Additionally, she checked my phone number in the system and discovered I was checked “opted out”. So, I’m out 2 hours of driving and a half tank of gas… but just know - your card is required for an appointment and can be billed whether there is a misunderstanding or not. I have never been requested to provide my credit card by a salon in the 25 years of getting my hair done. I also find it convenient when you have a “consult” aligned with an immediate appointment which saves on time and money! Maybe even a virtual consult would be convenient.

*in response: Are you suggesting that I lied about my appointment time? I never received a notification whatsoever, so how could I even opt out? The reason I’m writing this review is just to make others aware of their prices. I was charged $400 for a balayage with color and a hair trim. While I’m relatively happy with how my hair turned out, I am absolutely appalled by the price! I have had my hair colored in many ways by multiple stylists and have NEVER been charged close to this much. I reviewed their website and spoke to other clients to have a general idea about their pricing and I didn’t feel the need to ask for a quote because I felt like I had a ballpark for what this style should cost based on mine and others experience. I was comfortable with a range of pricing but this number just seems insane! I’ve never known anyone to pay that much for hair coloring. I feel like they should warn the clients ahead of time if a hair coloring is expected to cost that much, especially when it’s so high above the local average cost for that service. I did have a consult but the price was not mentioned to me. I was also a little frustrated by the consult because I had expressed it was hard for me to find time for my appointment, let alone a consult, but I hired a sitter and made it work. I waited 25 minutes for my stylist to finish her current client. When she was done, she was still cleaning up so they had me consult with a different stylist anyway. I usually am secpital about hair salons....But once I walked into this salon guys I knew this was the one that I was choosing to do my hair....This salon is awesome and I mean awesome...They are super friendly and very clean, they wipe down after every customer and after chairs have been used, they are awesome all around. I walked into this salon hating my hair with a passion and I mean I couldn't stand my hair at all... so they pointed me to SAM which by the way she is just all around amazing...not to mention so adorable....SAM sat down with me and got the details of what I wanted done to my hair and she made a plan....SAM really listens to what you want and how you want it...just so amazing..As she is doing your hair she let's you know every step from A to Z and tell you why she is doing it.......She made me laugh so much because she is just adorable she saw all the colors coming out in my hair so bright and them turning out so well, she got super excited. Guys I HIGHLY RECOMMEND her she is super amazing and does an awesome awesome job....I absolutely LOVE LOVE her guys This will be my home salon from.now on...Go see her......
