Jacaranda Plaza — Attraction in Venice

Decent little strip / plaza. Can get everything from a burger or seafood (Norma Jeans / Bonefish Grill) to clothes / shoes / household items (Beall's Outlet / Home Space[?], Marshall's) to everyday cheapie-things (Dollar General) and pet stuff (Petco). Used to have killer Cuban food, but that's gone... new place taking over called "Urban Tacos" isn't yet open. The biggest bummer is that Lucky's Market went bankrupt before they could open, so the huge end-space (that was empty for YEARS) will either remain empty or, possibly, become another Publix or Aldi's (as that's who bought out the other Lucky's locales). At any rate, this Benderson-owned strip is very near to becoming a one-stop- shopping center. If arriving via US41-Bypass southbound, use the (easy to miss!) leftmost turning lane just after the Center Rd intersection, else hit the next...

What a renaissance! This sad lonely shopping center has had a giant shot in the arm thanks to construction and expansion and many new tenants. Shopping is great fun here with the dollar tree, all the, TJ Maxx and Burlington coat Factory and several places to get a bite to eat.

A couple of issues. One, as with so many benderson shopping centers, the parking situation is tragic. One ways that are completely non-intuitive lead to many people going the wrong way in virtually every aisle. Parking aisles and spaces are far too narrow to navigate safely. Also, there is a significant and fairly aggressive cadre of seemingly homeless people spending their days in the shopping center. I debated hard between 3 and 4 stars. This is a good shopping plaza with many nice places to eat and shop. The Publix store is the main reason for coming here. This Publix store is like all of the Publix stores, top of the line in service and quality of the products sold. If you have never shopped at a Publix. You should. They offer you the best. The other main reason for coming to the Jacaranda Plaza is the new Planet Fitness center. This gym is operated by the best trained staff of any gym. Planet fitness is for everyone. If you are afraid of joining a gym. Don't be.. The staff is on your side. Go and get healthy. Do not fear being judged . This is a no judgement zone.
