Little Play Place — Attraction in Citrus Park

Not exactly what we were expecting but still cute. Upon our first time visiting I made a reservation ahead of time. Paid the $22 for “90 minutes” of open play (but actually you pay for 80 minutes and then get told to get out 10 minutes before hand… in my opinion it should be a gentle reminders 10 minutes before time to start picking up. Then 5 minutes before let people know they need to start making their way towards the front for “a sticker”). My reservation time was 9am-10:30am and was out by 10:23am. It seems a little like false advertising to say you get 90 minutes and then give everyone the boot 10 minutes before the displayed time. I get you have to clean and pickup before the next scheduled time but you either need to change the site and expectations for parents or you need to adjust scheduling to allow ample time for staff to reorganize and clean before the next reservation time. I also understand we need to watch after our children but if parents are expected to go from room to room there should be at least one seat made for an adult in each room. I’m 9 months pregnant and sitting on the floor and getting up and down and standing the full time is hard right now. The rules explained to us were as follows: no running no climbing pickup after your child (no specific location for the toys to go back but just up off the floor to keep the path clear and avoid injury) watch over your child these make perfect sense to me and agree with them fully

The floors in the rooms could use some padding or something. My child was in the camping area and tripped walking out of the camper because there’s a pole that runs along the bottom and he fell face first and if not for divine intervention from God, I swear— my child would’ve bashed their face, teeth first, into the hard concrete flooring but fortunately the top of my husbands shoe was there and broke his fall.

It’s a very cute establishment and we had fun but for the price I’d just go to the library because it’s free and they have a play room with a play kitchen, play market, trains, puppets, and puzzles (and seating for parents to watch as their kids play). This seems better suited for kids in the 4-7 age range and has aspects of what used to be called kid city/safety village (no longer a thing sadly) with more immersive pretend play.

After visiting Little Play Place a couple months back, I knew I wanted to have my daughter’s first birthday here. We booked it immediately because we knew time slots booked quick. We had her party on 10/8 from 10:30am-12:30pm. It was the absolute worst experience. While we were setting up because we were told staff was not available to help us set up, clean up, etc we had one of the owners hovering over us watching our every move. I felt very unwelcomed from the start and considering we had to pay almost $400 to have the party there, you’d think they’d love to have us. We had someone unknowingly blow up balloons with confetti in them that came in one of the balloon kits we got an a balloon popped and confetti was on the floor. I immediately offered to sweep it up and the older lady was just rudely sweeping it up and condescendingly said “this is why it’s in the contract - no confetti.” I get it, but we didn’t intentionally throw confetti and had no intentions on breaking the rules of the contract. I would’ve happily swept it up and it was more awkward to have her sweeping it up in front of my guests and she had an attitude about it. She made what was supposed to be s great day, one that I don’t want to remember truthfully. I’m so disheartened and embarrassed that my guests were also treated the way they were. When it was time to go, we were cleaning up and getting everything out and around 12:35 she aggressively told me that I needed to “get my guests out.” When we were already heading to the door. I never thought I could find something to do with my 5 week old and my toddler out of my home until I visited Little Play Place. My daughters almost three and I have a 5 week old daughter. It's been a struggle to find something to occupy them both that they were happy with. Olivia enjoyed exploring all of the different play areas and she loved being able to switch so quickly. She has a very short attention span so the ability to move from each room with ease was very entertaining to her. The baby area for Sophie felt comfortable and a safe area to play for her. I was able to play with Olivia and Sophie at the same time in the baby area and they had toys to entertain them both. It was nice to interact with both of them in a safe environment they both enjoyed. Rayne showed me how to use a tummy mat for Sophie with a wooden baby gym. Sophie was so calm and tried to push the toys and enjoyed herself for over thirty minutes. It was so nice to have both of my daughters enjoying themselves with something that stimulated their minds. I was so excited I went home and set up our tummy time mat for her and it has truly made things easier for me at home and I am seeing Sophie truly grasping what she's supposed to do. I love having something that is to help her with her development as she grows. I will definitely be back for more fun with the girls.
