First let me start by saying the reason for a score of "1" is because there was not a "0" to select. With this being said I must say I have never experience such frustration as I did today at this store for several reasons: 1) Upon entering the store I noticed that the isle containing the item I needed was extremely packed with carts of excess merchandise making it hard to get the item I needed. Anyone who may have issues with mobility would not survive this isle. 2) I requested assistance from a sales associate for the item I was interested in was on the very top shelf. After 15 mins I gave up and climbed the ladder myself for the item. 3) As i approached the cash register I noticed 4 registers were open for business. One of these registers had a line all the way to the back of the store, whereas the other 3 had no one.. So I selected one of these registers that had less people. I got to the register and the associate rang up my items, I then handed her my debit card for payment, she stated sorry ma'am this register is cash and check only, and that the line with the large amount of people was the debit/credit card line only. I then stated why wasn't there a note posted to your front entrance as to the certain preventing all registers from accept card payment or better yet above your cash register, she responded ma'am it was announced over the speaker. For which I stated not while I was in the store. So I then had to run out to my car and get my check book, upon my return I learned she voided my purchase, "oh my god really." Then she starts to re-enter my items and turned to ask me, "what did you have ma'am so I can speed up the processes?" I stated it is in the bag at your feet. Needless to say my visit to this store kept getting worst, for then after she reentered my items into the computer and I handed her my check, then I notice she was just standing there doing nothing, upon further observation noticed she did not know who the run the check through the computer system, so I had to wait until someone was able to assist her. Bottom line, I will never shop at this store ever again, nor will I ever...
Read moreThis is in regards to their new store that just opened up in the Gateway Marketplace. I was so excited to hear that Michael's would be opening up a new store in Jacksonville. I liked the old store, but felt they had a lack of inventory compared to other stores I have been to in other towns. Well, today was the first day opening of their new store and I had high hopes, that were quickly dashed, as I walked through the doors. In the old store, the aisles were big and everything was spread out. In this new store, everything seems to be crammed together. The aisles are small and compact. I left my cart at the end of the aisle, so as not to block people from coming down the aisle. In the old store, you could easily fit 2 carts side by side and someone would still be able to walk in between you. Not with this new store. They did seem to have more inventory than the old store, at least where I went, which was the vinyl and sticker section. They had a quite a bit of vinyl, though I think they could have used a little more variety. The sticker aisle was double stacked, so you would have to slide the display over to see more stickers behind it. I'm not a claustrophobic type of person, but the store made me feel that way. Everything was in your face. I did at first grab some vinyl and went to browse the other sections, but ended up putting the vinyl back and walking out without exploring anymore of the store. I did check the records of each store when I got home. The old store is listed at 19,200 sq ft. The new store is listed at 21,935 sq. ft. That's not a huge jump in retail space and by the looks of the store, I would have to guess they put that extra space into back storage area instead of the retail section. Now it very well may be bigger than the old store, but it certainly doesn't seem that way with the way everything is crammed in. It's a very nice looking store, but I don't see myself going in there much, unless I am looking for something specific where I can get in and out. I did not interact with any of the employees, but I'm sure it's the same ones from the old store and they were...
Read moreDoesn’t even deserve one star. This place is horrible!!!!!!! I will never spend another penny at a michaels. The staff are ALWAYS rude. I’ve never once been asked if I need help finding anything and if I ask someone for help they are very rude and act like I am a waste of their time. I’ve almost been ran over 3 times with big carts that they push around with stock on it and they’ve never said “excuse me” or “sorry”, they shoot me an evil glare and keep going. And lastly, I ordered something the very beginning of January and wanted it shipped to the store because I thought it would be quicker than having it shipped to my house. I was told multiple times that I would be called when it arrived at the store because my tracking number didn’t work. Turns out it’s been at the store for two weeks and no one ever called me. Horrible store. They need all new staff or to shut...
