My husband & I w/ my daughter went to this store today as my husband tore the back of his pants getting out of our vehicle. We walked in to buy some pants for him to change into so we could continue with our day. We spent 15-20 minutes inside browsing clothing, shoes, etc. as we intended on making it quick so we could go eat as my husband was diabetic, it took longer than expected. Unfortunately his sugar dropped pretty quick and he became disoriented and dizzy. He had put on the pants and proceeded to pay for them at the register, the lady at the register told him he would have to go back and take them off so she could ring them up and take off the security tag. He told her he was diabetic and that his sugar was extremely low and was starting to jerk from a possible seizure with his sugar being so low. She insisted on him taking them off, I spoke up and told her was there somewhere he could sit to eat a snack to get his sugar back up and she told us he could sit in the shoes department as they have chairs there where people try on shoes. I was panicking and looking around for some help & saw a nice man (his name was Devin) standing at the other register and walked to him & told him my husbands diabetic and he's very low and is going to fall if he doesn't get somewhere to sit. He instantly came from behind the counter, grabbed My husbands arm and helped him walk to the front bench where people come in/out of the store, (Keep in mind I am panicking & he still had on pants we didn't pay for yet & a drink I had grabbed for him) I let him know I will pay for the pants and the drink after we got him seated. He told me he understood and that my husbands safety was first. After we got him to the bench to sit, Devin said he would be right back but asked if we needed anything at all or if a ambulance was needed. He came back with a handheld to take off the security tag and we grabbed the tag and the drink & I went to pay for the items. He was soo nice & professional the entire time and kept checking on us as time went by. Another lady, I believe she was loss prevention also came and asked if we needed anything. Just thought to share the experience we had today and how much of GREAT help Devin was the entire time. If it wasn't for him by husband would have busted his head if he would have fell. Diabetes is something not everyone knows about but it's something to take very seriously if someone is hypoglycemia.
Thank you so much for your kindness today Devin & your willingness to help at a difficult time. My husband wished he would have thanked you more but he was still a little fuzzy, we insisted on writing a review for your generosity. Burlington in Jacksonville, NC will always have our business.
Thank you & God...
Read morethis store was a complete disappointment at the check out line that i have ever experienced. the line was terribly long and knowing that i did still decide to try and wait. i do not consider myself a impatient individual but this was entirely over the top. there were about 25 customers in front of me and the line to check out was literally wrapped around all the way into the men’s section. there were only 2 cashiers up front, one male and one female. it looked like 1 customer was holding up the line as the male cashier was attempting to assist her. and i say attempt because he was not actively doing much but standing there and then while waiting for what i assume the manager, went to get trash bags and hangers. he started speaking on a walkie talkie and im thinking to myself whoever he is talking to needs to be up here helping on the register or at the very least trying to resolve whatever issue was going on with the one specific customer that was having an issue and holding up the line. so that way he could help others to check out. that didn’t happen. did see what looked like the manager at that time for one hot second then she left. the female cashier was doing the most work but then turned her light off that signaled she was open for customers and left her station. so then nobody was helping the 12 customers that were still in front of me. absolutely ridiculous. after waiting for what seemed like an eternity i finally decided to get out of the line, put my items down, and left that store. please send help to this location and please offer or provide guidance on how to properly deal with situations like this because it could have been done much better. i visited this store on 8/19/23...
Read moreWhen I was waiting in line the cashier took a while to checkout the one person in front of me because she continued to keep stopping to talk to the other employee behind the counter. I was able to have about 5 min of extra shopping waiting in line because the First Lady was waiting on the cashier to finish her conversation also. When I went up there I wasn’t even able to get a “Hi” or “hello” out because she was gossiping with her employee again! When she was done ringing up all my stuff and did finally speak to me she was extremely rude. She wouldn’t look at me or give me the time to speak as right after she said my total she went back to her chatting with the other employee. They were talking about some drama that happened at a hotel and Angela had lots to say since apparently she used to work at a hotel. After she told me my total She asked if I was a loyalty member and after I said no she went dead silent and started listening to her employee talk. I had to ask her if she would like my phone number so my receipt is saved and she then told me with an attitude that “you’re going to have to wait until it’s all done now since I already asked if you were a loyalty member” I obviously did not realize that was the same thing and told her I’m not a loyalty member I just wanted my receipt saved just in case I lose mine. She has a little argument with me and I walk out “saying it’s fine just forget it” because this whole time I’m holding my 30lb 1yr old and am 12 weeks pregnant. I understand she doesn’t know I’m pregnant but I didn’t come to Burlington to argue with an employee and hear about all of her gossip. I usually love Burlington but this has been one of the worst experiences...
