For some context: My grandpa just had a funeral and we were looking to get some pictures of the event
My parents recently hired this company, or the owner Henry, to take photos at our funeral, paying $350 upfront as agreed for the service of the funeral. When the funeral started, they were already 30 MINUTES LATE because they apparently forgot about the event 🤣 After the funeral, we had a post-funeral dinner, which we asked Henry if it is possible to continue taking pictures during the dinner event. He agreed to continue taking pictures during the dinner for an additional $150. $350+$150=$500 is quite simple, right?
Despite being told that was the total cost for the entire day, we were later hit with an unexpected $200 charge due to extended hours past our event EVEN THOUGH we have already deposited $500. This happened two weeks after the event, in which they have already told us that the pictures would be delivered a week after the event
Fast forward to today, we arrived physically in person to ask what is going on as we are confused as to why the terms of the agreement changed after we were expecting our service. The business owner was RELENTLESS in demanding the extra $200, showing no concern for our needs or the emotional context of the event. When we tried to discuss the previous agreed upon terms with him, he refused to show us the surveillance footage from their office, which could prove our original agreement
Instead, we unwillingly paid the additional amount just to get the photos and instead, ignored any legal actions over $200
Don't be fooled by the 200+ 5-star reviews – they DEFINITELY are a trap and are possibly manipulated. I strongly advise future customers to compare other photographers before considering them. Save yourself the headache and find a business that values fairness and customer satisfaction. Oh, and not to mention, the owner Henry has another business rated lower at a different location … I wonder why thats the case.
Red Flags 1: Arrived late on scene for the most important part of the funeral 2: Charged post-service on agreed upon terms during the event 3: No flexibility; no room for negotiation and is stubborn on his price points (even though we shouldn't have to negotiate in the first place) 4: Very sly; when we asked for him to show us the footage of our previous agreement, he flat out refused. The agreement was oral, not through a contract or any sort.
So many red flags when there are definitely better options out...

She asked the owner nicely for the electronic copy of her photo, the owner sent on WeChat, which was not clear enough to be approved. So the next day, she tried to talk or call the store, the owner was very rude and refused to reply. She just wants a clear electronic copy of her photo! Since this is very urgent, we went back to the store the day after, the owner raised his voice, accusing us for not checking emails, he said he sent the photo this morning. Once we open it, it was still the unclear unusable photo. I saw his saliva flying and hear his high-pitched accusations, he said he doesn’t have the original copy, this one is good enough. This is really unprofessional, as a photo place, at least they should have a grace period for saving documents. Moreover, his refusal to communicate really postponed my friend’s important legal papers. She would have to do the prep work all again and wait another month to finish. The owner insists he used a Chinese site to pre-check the photo is clear enough, however, not matter what documents we are doing, we have the right to our original clear photo. His attitudes towards customers were obnoxious, at least he should’ve said he sent the picture in email. Anyways, we spent the number? But we did not get the product we need, and now it’s just gonna take us more time and money to do this...
