Sequels — Attraction in Fredericksburg

This is my favorite clothing store in all of Fredericksburg. Let me tell you why they are so special!

First off, the prices are fantastic! I shop here before every major event in my life -- vacations, weddings, holiday parties -- and always score a LOT of amazing clothes and a final bill of under $200. To give you sense, last time I was there I bought 2 pair of jeans, a pair of pants, a dress, and 4 tops for about $150. I've gotten a lot of great items for under $20 and many for under $10. You can also score some amazing deals on high-end designer clothing, shoes, and handbags, if that's your scene.

Second, the selection is fantastic. It's all second-hand. But unlike most second-hand shops, it's all in fantastic condition, often barely worn or still new with tags.

But what make Sequels super special? The staff!! If they're not busy, you can tell them what you're looking for and they'll help you find things. That's a GODSEND when, say, your daughter decides that you should wear a purple dress to her BatMitzvah for coordinated pictures and you discover too late that the purple dress you owned is now too small. "Megan!" I sobbed as the doorbell jangled. "I need a purple dress for tomorrow. It's an emergency!" "Hmm," she replied, pulling one from a nearby rack. "Try this on and I'll pull anything else that I can find." I finally found one that fit, but looked just a bit too casual. "That's okay," said Megan. "We'll just jazz it up a bit with some glamorous jewelry and a pair of good heels." And she pulled the perfect coordinated items and I was saved! As a bonus, the whole ensemble was under $100 and I got a TON of compliments on my outfit the next day.

The staff is not pushy, and they'll give honest feedback on an outfit if you, like me, weren't born with the fashion gene. They also give helpful suggestions about what will coordinate with certain items, e.g. "just match this with a pair of low heels" or "this will coordinate well with a solid color tank-top".

I will NEVER go here. I called at open and spoke to an employee who informed me that the person who did appraisals was not in the office and she would have to call me back to set up an appointment. While giving her information, we ended up talking about the items I wanted to bring it. It originally was supposed to be 20 items because I thought they only dealt with designer brands but she informed me that they also deal with every day wear. I told her I was going to go to platos closet with regular clothes and she told me not to and to bring it all in. Later in the day I spoke with MEGAN. And that’s where it all went down hill. From the first word it was an attitude. I tried to explain to her the items I was bringing in and was cut off from talking to be told that they were “selective” and could only take so much. That’s when I started to tell her what the other employee said and she cut me off again. I at this point am getting frustrated and tell her that but she continues to argue and just talk me around in circles. I told her repeatedly that I just wanted to bring my clothes in for appraisal and she would follow with a comment and then ask me why I was getting upset. She even said that she didn’t feel comfortable doing business with me because I was upset. Well no kidding I’m upset! At the point I asked to speak to the owner which she informed me was her mother and that she wouldn’t let me talk to her because “it would be a waste of time cause she would...

This store is incredible. The staff is extremely nice and really take care of you. The overall environment is just fun, customers were also very nice. It has a very “small business” personal feel but still a classy boutique.

I would personally travel about an hour here if I lived in the area. There is a lot of good boutique & thrift stores in Fredericksburg but this one is just the best so why not come and start your trip here?! Not only because of the selection but the PRICES!! This is the most reasonable prices I’ve seen in a while for a boutique who actually sells timeless, fashionable & avant garde pieces. I can’t stress enough I don’t know how you walk into a store like this and not walk out with something and also be happy you did it. The prices are just that good, even the higher end designer brands were priced good and really the selection is so good you will have trouble finding what is a “designer brand” and what isn’t.

The store itself has a very Breakfast at Tiffany’s vibe with fashion catalogs around making you feel actually cool shopping here. From all the other stores in the area I would say this one feels the most unique in the best way.

Again I highly recommend this place it has amazing stuff for phenomenal prices and has an on sale section as well but also has some beautiful designer pieces making the store for anyone and the staff genuinely makes it feel that way. If you are into any type of fashion this...
