We did From Beyond as a group of 4. We were told upon our arrival that this is the hardest room they have, and its typically recommended for a group of 6-8 due to its difficulty.
We loved the policy that they would rather have you experience the whole game than fail. This means there is not a restricted number of hints, and your game master will give you as little or as many hints you need to succeed. Of course, this means if you want restricted hints, you need to tell your game master before you start. Our game master was the owner - and we think his hints were helpful and in just the right amount.
The game master does not spend their time in the room with you but instead communicates through your clockdown monitor.
As for the game itself - I will not spoil any of the puzzles, of course. Heres our thoughts.
The story and atmosphere is IMPECCABLE! . The ending is so unique and fun!
We think this game is harder the more people you bring in. This is a very linear escape room where there really is only one sequence of puzzles that can happen at a time.
As long as you pay attention to the details of the written text provided to you in the room, your surroundings, and communicate well with each other, and follow those instructions, you will have no problem completing the majority of this room.
But this does mean, because of the intense communication required and that there is one linear solution, that we think this room is more difficult when you have more people to do it. We thought 4 was perfect. 8 would get chaotic. We definitely do not think this room is appropriate for Children due to the theming, story, and difficulty of the puzzles. Its pretty spooky (but not scary). This room genuinely requires immense amounts of thought, attention to detail, and communication, which is exactly what our game master said before we started.
Our group of 4 escaped with nearly 6 minutes left on our countdown.
We only have a few complaints:
The way this room is structured, you lack the satisfaction of a physical key that helps you escape, but this did not impact our experience. Several electronic mechanisms broke/rebooted during our game. But the game master was quick to fix, and put some extra time on the clock for us to wait/catch up. Our group photo has a timer of 44~ minutes so he added approximately 10 minutes of time, but we still would have escaped on time even with these difficulties. The ceilings are open. When we needed to use sound clues it was very difficult to hear/understand them because of a group screaming in the room next to us.
Overall, we 100% recommend not only From Beyond, but the entire facility! We few friends had a blast...
Read moreAhoy, fellow puzzle enthusiasts! Last week, my family of seasoned escape room adventurers (with 75-100 rooms under our belts worldwide, not that we’re counting…) took on the Pirate Challenge at Rush Hour Live Escape Games. We sailed in with high hopes after reading glowing reviews, but let’s just say, our ship didn’t quite make it to treasure island.
First off, the walls. Oh, the walls. Well, they’re not really walls so much as 10-foot-high suggestions of walls with a delightful gap at the top that allows you to fully experience not just your room, but all the rooms around you. Nothing says “immersive pirate adventure” like hearing Santa Claus from the next room over. I guess you could say we got a two-for-one special? 🎅🏻🏴☠️
Now, if you’re a fan of decor, buckle up. The pirate theme was... let’s call it "minimalist." If you squint hard enough, you might even believe you’re on a ship. Maybe. The challenges? Ah yes, mostly locks. So many locks. If you enjoy spinning dials more than actual puzzles, you’ll love it here. Houdini would be proud.
But the real fun came when the game master decided to really join our crew. At least three times we got "help" we didn’t ask for. It was like having someone in the theater whispering spoilers in your ear. We managed to accidentally solve a broken puzzle (a special skill, I guess?) and were promptly told to go back and fix it—like pirates rewriting their treasure map mid-hunt. Arrr, talk about immersion!
While this room may not be ideal for seasoned escape room veterans, it could be a fun adventure for those who are new to the escape room experience or looking for something on the simpler side. The challenges are straightforward, and the game master’s involvement might be appreciated by beginners who need a little extra guidance.
On a positive note, Megan was super helpful with our reservation and made sure everything went smoothly leading up...
Read moreI've been to 3 different escape room facilities now, always looking for new ones to try. When I decided to check this one out, I wasn't sure how it would compare to the others. I'd already done some pretty cool rooms. Let me put this quite simply: don't go anywhere else. This is THE facility to use if your curious about trying or looking for your next escape room. From the second you walk inside to the beautifully decorated and furnished entry, you can see and feel the excitement and quality. You know your somewhere special. And then the game begins, and it's like you've been thrown onto the set of a movie with the amount of work and detail that's been put into the rooms. The puzzles were beyond fascinating and fun. And you can even do the entire game in costume themed to your room. We will be back here within the month I imagine as we couldn't stop talking about it the rest of the night. Our group is very into puzzles and board games and that sort of thing so this was definitely the place for us. We specifically did the Tomb of the Red Queen, without realizing it was their hardest one and escaped with 5 minutes left. Even though this is the only room I've seen, I can't suggest it enough. It's like being in an Indiana Jones movie or an Uncharted/Tomb Raider video game. It's perfect. I can't wait to see how their other...
