PLEASE READ BEFORE COMING HERE First let me start by saying that I hardly ever leave reviews. I got a stereo installed here yesterday and I completely regret it. The sales person was kinda rude and sarcastic to me because I didn't know much about stereos; and I'm also hard of hearing. I was just looking for something cheap because my car had a cassette deck stereo installed but I ended up spending $250 on a basic stereo (which didn’t even come with a remote)and bad service. He tries to sell you on the system by saying that he has it and you get a warranty (which applies at any retail outlet) I really feel like I was ripped off. The sales man was pushy and was following me/stared me down when I stepped aside to compare prices at different places. My gut told me to leave and I should have listened. They didn't even tell me that they were done so I was just sitting there waiting for no reason until I asked them. They left pistachios shells in my car which is disgusting. They charge $85 ($115 if you don’t buy the speaker from them Best Buy only charges $65) for installation when you can get it done at Best Buy for free (which I unfortunately found out too late) and charged $60 for the harness which was runs around $17+ at Best Buy. I could've saved at least $150 by going to Best Buy and probably gotten better service..and had money left over for speakers or tune-up, etc. It sucks to be ripped off because I’m a single parent and college student so my money is tight. I'm all for supporting local businesses but they need to do a better job at respecting their customers that spend their hard earned money in their establishments. I would never come here again or recommend it to a friend, Best Buy has better prices on stereos, they match prices, have cheaper installation, and are more professional (not leaving their food in your car). Don't waste your money at this place. Be smarter than me. I would hate to see someone else get robbed like I was. Best Buy is tight down the road—only 1.5 miles away (a 6 minute drive from this place) and installation takes around the same amount of time. I do not work for Best Buy by the way, just trying to help someone that might be I’m the same shoes as me...I really wish I had of been warned!! Go to yelp reviews to see photos of my...
Read moreWhere do I begin. I called and asked if SK could install a BOYO A-Pass Touch for me. They are listed as a dealer and I was told they could do it. I asked BEFORE I drove to Clackamas from Beaverton how long it would take and was told probably an hour. When I arrived about 1 hour later I was told it would take 1 1/2 to get in for install and would be completed by 2pm. I totally understood this as other customers had come in before me. While I was there I asked if they could give me a quote to hook up my steering wheel radio controls to my pioneer head unit. I was told they could do it and would need to install aftermarket parts. The quote was reasonable, so I asked them to do it. I asked them since I was not familiar with the area what they would suggest I do for several hours and was told the mall was across the street. They took my contact information and I left and returned at 3pm. One hour after they told me it would be ready. Jamie told me that he would check to see where they were in the install and came back up front to say it was going to by another 1 1/2 hours. Good Lord. Really? No phone call to let me know? So.. I left again. When I returned at 5:30pm.. mind you that is 6 1/2 hours after I dropped off my car, I was met at the counter by Jamie who explained that they could not get the steering controls to work. Again, no contact had been made to let me know the problem or that the car was wired for the A-Pass. Of course the prices was double what I was told and I paid that because I know the tech spent time trying to get the steering controls to work. The A-Pass works great. But that is the extent of my satisfaction with this entire experience. As many times as I stood at the counter, there were always three staff behind the counter just sitting there. No one every engaged me first, I was always the one to have to ask is it ready? Or even when I walked in for the first time, I had to initiate contact. Bottom line is I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. What these guys don't know is that I am a VP of Operations who has been looking for sub contractor to install aftermarket cameras and alarms in custom service trucks that we build. This experience will result in them loosing the opportunity to make at least 150...
Read morePurchased a stereo and install from these guys back in July, and noticed when I was driving it home that when it was in aux mode there was a horrendous crackling noise and when it was in all other modes there was a very high pitched electronic buzz that would go up and down with the engine speed. My son had the car away for some weeks so in August I contacted them in person about the problem. I brought it in and left it off a second time for them to fix the issue I described. They weren't in touch at all so after no replies from chat or calls or emails I stopped by in person and they said it was done. Drove it home and realized it was exactly the same as before! Needless to say I was very frustrated, not only because it was tricky for my family of 4 to be down a car, but now felt like we'd really been taken advantage of to the tune of $550 for a worse-sounding stereo than the stock one. After repeated tries to contact them without replies (note this theme) I went in person again and insisted that the install guy listen to the problem and sat in the car and verified with him the huge crackling sound in aux mode. He insisted the buzz was less than before but it was still there. Left if off again, no communication again, issues were still there after the third time and I was done now. I called and emailed asking for them to refund my money and put the stock stereo back in or make it right by giving me a comparable unit instead. My only reply was via email asking if I would take a smaller-face unit to which I replied no I wanted the same style and asked how they would make it right. After that there were no more replies - they totally ghosted me. So finally I called the credit card company I used and reported that I didn't get what I paid for from them. What do you know, once I did this I finally heard back from them (this is now 3 months after the original purchase and install) and they're saying they will refund my money and put the stock unit back in. Hoping that this fourth time they don't screw it up. Leaving this review to save you the money, time and frustration I've had to endure. Stay far away from...
