Tan Esther OD — Attraction in Paradise

15 years ago I was looking for an eye doctor, just wanted a new prescription and pair of glasses. Someone suggested the Eye Care Center at my local Walmart (Dr’s Eng and Tan). I thought to myself, this was going to be a mediocre experience, but what the heck.....I needed new glasses. Boy was I surprised, I totally misjudged both Dr Eng and Dr Tan. Just because they practice at Walmart, it doesn’t make them “mediocre” in any way. In fact, my experiences with them over the past 15 years have been nothing but professional and excellence. All my exams and prescriptions have been right on point. When it came time to recommend that I be tested for macular degeneration (which runs in my family), Dr Eng tested me, but then referred me in to a specialist. He didn’t mess around with it, he had no problem handing me over to a retina specialist whom I continue to see to this day. What’s more, Dr Eng has called me to see how I’m doing, has researched answers for my questions and has “been there” for me. I highly recommend these two knowledgeable and dedicated eye doctors to anyone seeking better vision and service. They are two of the best in...

I really loved going to Dr. Joseph Eng. He's thorough. He's also very kind. I needed some sample contacts, which he gives, provided he has the correct description, with each new prescription. At the time of my visit,t I was not doing well financially. That said, I could only truly afford the glasses at the time. I explained this to him and the result was an extra sample pair. This allowed me the month that I would need to get the funds for an order of lens. He didn't have to do that. There's also something to be said about feeling comfortable enough to tell someone you barely know that you needed their help. Bottom line, he's a fine doctor and wonderful human being. Can't...

I never write reviews... But I had such a pleasant experience at Dr. Eng's office, that I felt I should tell others. I was able to make my own appt. day and time! That was very convenient! The wait time was short and the Receptionists were very friendly and personable. Dr. Eng answered all my questions pertaining to my eyes from contacts to cataracts. He will even go on his computer if you want. :) What was really great about it was, Dr. Eng genuinely cares about his profession which means he cared about me! :) See you next...
