The Swirl — Attraction in Williamsburg

I recently visited The Swirl, a delightful local ice cream shop, and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The staff member who assisted us was incredibly kind and helpful, adding to the warmth of the place. The fact that they had not just one, but four different vegan options – raspberry, lemon, strawberry, and chocolate – was a pleasant surprise for my plant-based preferences.

I opted for the raspberry and chocolate combination, and it was a delightful burst of flavors. My husband, on the other hand, indulged in a banana split and a black and white cookie, both of which he thoroughly enjoyed. The diverse menu catering to various preferences showcased the thoughtful consideration put into creating a truly inclusive and enjoyable experience for all customers.

update 5/27 As you can see, this business very kindly offered to fully refund us for our poor experience. That was very generous and instead of marking this as "not coming again", we will gladly give it another shot next time.

Sadly this place was a miss for us. Came at 8:35 on a Sunday and there was no soft serve as they had just emptied it, which felt early. My 3 kids got chocolate and vanilla or just vanilla gelato but much to our demise, the chocolate was horribly frosty and tasted like old ice cream that had been sitting too long. I was excited when I read it was imported gelato from Italy and the quality was not great. I got a strawberry shortcake and the fruits of the forest was delicious, but again the bad chocolate and the cake was not good.

An expensive trip for the 4 of us to boot, with tip it was over $30+. I was disappointed there were not kid sizes for the gelato. Will...

Ice Cream is gelato and soft serve. Soft serve uses vanilla as it's base for the flavors added in. We look for flavored soft serve when we travel. There are about 10 or so flavors on any given day. Friendly service. quality is good. Outside seating is perfect under umbrellas protected from the sun... limited inside seating. flavors were not intense. they are subtle additives to the soft serve. It's better than other places nearby that typically only serve vanilla, chocolate, and swirl. So if you are looking for flavored soft serve or gelato, I highly recommend...
