I have been going through hell the last 2 days. I bought my iPhone 15 plus from target January 31st 2024. I already had service through xfinity, so I activated the phone through them and replaced my old iPhone I had. After having service for a few weeks on the new phone I decided to say screw xfinity because they are charging me a different amount every month and my bill is super high for no reason. I took my phone to metro pcs yesterday to port my number over, to find out that my eSIM is locked to the carrier (xfinity). I was advised by metro pcs to call xfinity and have them remove the carrier lock. Upon calling xfinity, on speaker so metro could hear the call, they repeatedly denied having ever placed a sim lock on my phone stating it’s impossible because I brought my own paid off device to their company. I then went back to target, as they tried pinning blame on them for selling me a locked device. Target then stated the same, it’s impossible we don’t even have your information and we do not sell locked apple products. So here I am, fighting tooth and nail for xfinity to unlock my eSIM for the second day. Now my $1000 phone is a paperweight that I can’t put any service on. I contacted apple support and they told me they cannot unlock my sim, only the carrier can. The only carrier I have used on this phone is xfinity.. all of my appointments, health information, diabetes tracker etc is on my iCloud. I cannot even use iMessage or anything. I am at such a loss on what to do. I just paid some website on google to trace which carrier locked my eSIM so hopefully that works. I was just able to get into my Facebook account after 24 hours and uploading my drivers license. I reset my phone to factory settings yesterday because target told me worst case scenario to return my phone and exchange it. So I wiped it erasing all my data, and they wouldn’t accept the return. Apparently apple products only have a 2 week return policy.. so now I can’t get all my stuff back onto my iCloud backup for whatever reason because I don’t have cellular service now. So none of my app stored data, calendar info etc is on my phone now. Idk what to do, I’m so damn stressed out and nobody will help me. Xfinity continues to lie about locking my device. It was unlocked when I took it to xfinity for service, and now it’s locked. Obviously I didn’t lock my eSIM myself, so what gives? Scamming people for years and they...
Read moreUPDATE - It gets worse! My phone went offline sometime in March. I was told by "technical support" that I needed an updated SIM card and I'll get it in 2 days. 4 days later, when the card didn't show, I was told by technical support that a card wasn't ordered and I'll get one in 2 days. Card came, I got with activation and they said it would activate in 24 hours...it didn't. This back and forth went on for 5 weeks. FIVE WEEKS! One chat agent finally fessed up and said they were having trouble with their tools and I have to wait another week and the phone will activate. Bottom line is 6 weeks, 14 hours in chat technical support and a new phone. My service sort of works. I was offered $20. THEE SINGLE WORST COMPANY FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! You are a fool of you have anything at all to do with this company.
When we went in to get cell service switched over the young lady was professional and friendly. I went back to turn in equipment and asked for help on an account issue. When I signed up for Internet service the website attached my parents account (in a different city) to mine without asking for any kind of validation. Now if I change anything on my account it changes my parents account too.8 hours on the phone with "customer service" and 6 months later it still isn't fixed. At the Xfinity store I was told "just call customer service". After explaining the situation and how it's unfair to ask me, the paying customer, to spend another 2 hours on the phone, the very same employee who sold us cell service flat out refused to help. "What do you want me to do, sir?" I said that since she is getting paid instead of paying that she should be on the phone for 2 hours instead of me. "We don't do that here.". I pointed to the sign that says Xfinity then to the "customer service" desk. She refused. Like every other company they expect the customer to do their work for them. Plenty of help to spend your money, zero help when you need it fixed. I finally figured out a work around myself but it still isn't fixed....

I spend an hour on the phone listening to all of these promises and deals, new cell phone and coverage, and local channels. NONE of that is true when I come to the store in st.aug to return old equipment and get another box! I've been a customer for 10 yrs, With my bill getting higher and higher and smart t.v's in every room, I opted for just internet.turns out, my bill is the same, with or without extra or local channels! on the phone, I was told to take the phones to the store for refund but I get there, and I'm told NO, they have to b sent back to where they come from!! Let me not forget to mention, I took advantage of the free phone and service, with an extra one for my hubby, they sent a phone, WITH NO PHONE NUMBER!!! Xfinity is paying 3rd party in another country, and one doesn't know what the others rules are!!! That could be part of the problem! But What person wants to work for such a company?? Very frustrating!!!! In this day and age you can't listen to t.v without internet, and that's maddening enuff!! And in my area, there is only ONE company, XFINITY! And I LOATHE that!!! Too bad journalism is dead, otherwise, someone could get answers!! If there are other options, someone please...
