Horrible, just horrible experience with this hotel and staff. As I read the comments below. It appears others have had the same experience. The BBB should really look into this hotel and management.
We had booked a 2 night stay here and received our confirmation code confirming our stay through the hotel directly, we had stated we had a dog as well. We later received a call that the hotel did not have any rooms to accommodate our stay with a dog the second night. We had driven about 5 hours during a holiday weekend to stay here! I asked the woman on the phone if she could do anything to help us out because we had driven so far. She said no, I repeated to her "ma'am we had driven 4 hours and are an hour away. You had given us a us a confirmation code stating we could stay." She got frustrated with me and stated no ma'am things happen in a short amount of time." I asked again, she then stated she would get her manager. She picked up the phone and stated there is nothing they could do. I don't think she ever asked. I then asked if they could please cancel our 2 night stay without a fee. She hesitated! With resistance she finally said okay. This is poor, rude and insulting customer service, she had ended up hanging up on us! Now we needed to find a dog friendly hotel, on a holiday weekend in a small town! Thanks Mountain View Inn!
I also keep checking my credit card to ensure they do not charge us, as I now do not...
Read moreWe ended up booking this property because we accidentally messed up our bookings and had to change/cancel reservations after everything was already booked up. After reading reviews, I think they are so up and down due to the way people review. This Inn is listed as a 2 star hotel and that’s what you get. What happened is, we paid about 4 star price so that’s how this review will go. The lady at check in is super friendly and helpful. Amazing customer service from everyone. Now for $422 a night, beds and pillows need to be updated about 300 sleeps ago or maybe they’ve always been that load and uncomfortable (I was fine but my 200 lb husband had a hard sleep). Mattresses are super cheap and noisy. View is great but our screen fell off when we opened the window (and no we didn’t call the front office because if we called for every little thing, our trip would have been fixing things rather than going out to do things). The TV had an issue and they came and fixed it but again, for $422 a night, not an issue we should be dealing with after a busy day with a 4 year old. The smell was also just an old musty, stale smoke smell and it was definitely inside the room, not out. So all in all, for a 2 star hotel, rating is a 10/10. For a hotel for $422, rating is a 2 or 3. I get dynamic pricing since there was a festival in town but this room shouldn’t ever cost more than $79/night for...
Read moreI used to stay at Hampton Inn, but it seems like all the large chains have either forgotten or don't care about delivering customer satisfaction anymore. I have been coming to the Mountain Inn over the past couple of years and they never disappoint. Important things I look for when I stay someplace and to me is a huge thumbs up, include clean nice towels, clean sheets, and a comfortable bed and this place always delivers. Aside from that, the rooms are always clean and have ample space to move about. Other guests I have encountered have all been friendly and respectful. It's really a peaceful place and has a spectacular view of the mountains from the back deck of each room. All the rooms I have stayed in have had a mini fridge with a freezer on top so you can freeze your ice packs to put in your travel cooler, which for me, is important, and I consider it a nice thoughtful touch by the owners. The staff I have interacted with, Royce, Annie, and Alan are all friendly and welcoming, they are always on top of things, and you can tell they work hard to make way for a...
