China Chef — Restaurant in Conway

We were on a small family vacation and decided to get Chinese food take out one afternoon. So we took a drive and stopped at the first Chinese place we saw. It was China Chef. The prices were reasonable on most items/dishes, some were high compared to our smaller town favorite back home. The quantities were significantly smaller. My husband and daughter usually get two meals out of the combo meals. The size of these didn't allow for that. I can only speak for the food I ate personally and it was good tasting overall. Because of my current dietary needs I had hot and sour soup(my husband had the same and our daughter had wonton), vegetable egg foo young and broccoli with ginger sauce. The hot and sour soup was spicy (as it's meant to be) and would have been perfect if it had a bit more tofu in it. Otherwise it was great for my taste. The soup didn't have as many mushrooms as usual, so I didn't have to pick them out :) The veggie egg foo young was packaged inside the gravy instead of separate like I'm used to. This made using minimal gravy a bit more complicated. There were only three medium sized ones compared to the usual 4 large ones I'm used to. Aside from them being submerged in gravy, the flavor was great(I did take them out and remove most of the gravy). Lastly the broccoli in ginger sauce turned out to be Chinese veggies(including broccoli). Thankfully the gentleman taking my order asked me if I wanted mushrooms or not, which confused me at the time, and I said no. The veggies were cooked just right, not too soggy and not too crunchy. The ginger sauce was a bit spicy, but good. This veggie dish also came with a large size container of white rice. Aside from the soup the food I got was enough to last me for three meals. So, overall the food was good, the quantity was less than we are used to and the prices are a bit higher. The prices were kind of expected being in a bigger "city" area though with lots of tourists there year round. I would recommend China Chef for service, flavor, taste, and just caution on price and quantity if you're used to smaller town/city prices. Good job...

I love this place. Ho and his family are very funny and kind all the time. They've always shown me great service. I think many of the reviews are unreasonable. I have eaten here for years and I have great pride that their food isn't completely filled with excessive junk like many other American Chinese restaurants. I'm sure it has some things that aren't good for you but it's a significant amount less than other places. It's take-out only right now because of the pandemic but that has not stopped me from ordering here. I can't wait until they open the dining room again. Also, their chicken wings are a NORMAL sized chicken wing. Wings aren't supposed to be excessively large or that means they've been pumped full of hormones. If you are someone like me and prefers the food closer to its actual state than this is the place for you. Also many restaurants have suffered huge staff loss and have been going through chefs or dining staff starting and leaving after a short while. Give all restaurants a break. Many of them are...

Ordered dinner at 5:30 in person because we were unable to get through in the phone (I absolutely understand it’s Christmas and it’s busy…I appreciated the fact they were open to cook for my family!). At 7:40 they call for it to be picked up. We live less than 5 minutes round trip to pick up and bring home. Got home, wrong order entirely, the white rice we didn’t order looked used and as if someone had scooped from the container, the pork strips smelt rancid and were indistinguishable, the sweet and sour sauces were poured all over the entire bag, a bug (maybe a moth) with some mysterious clump was in one of the other containers of sauce, all boxes were filthy, the food was cold (not Luke warm, not heated but as of they have been sitting for far to long).
