Riverfront Park — Attraction in Conway

If you're looking for a place where time stands still, shirts are optional, and the smell of river mud mixes with chewing tobacco and cheap cigars like a fine Southern cologne—Conway’s River Front Park is your holy grail.

From the moment I pulled up in my bass boat—which I had to parallel park between a John boat held together with duct tape and a pontoon blasting Skynyrd—I knew I had found heaven on the Waccamaw.

The dock? Wobbly enough to make you question your life choices, but solid enough to support a 300-pound uncle named Bubba who was double-fisting a Natty Light and a Slim Jim while teaching his nephew how to spit tobacco without hitting the dog. Majestic.

The playground? More like a training ground for future NASCAR pit crews. Kids were doing donuts on scooters while their parents chain-smoked Swisher Sweets and argued over who caught the bigger catfish last weekend.

At one point, a dude in a John boat offered me a “river cigar.” Turns out it was just a cigar dipped in moonshine. I coughed up a lung, saw Jesus, and then caught a 6-pound bass with a corn dog stick. Worth it.

This is a very beautiful place to go to just take a walk with friends or family or your dog. However it has somewhat of a romantic setting so also perfect for dates whether it be a picnic or one of the amazing restaurants nearby. The kids love it as well because not only is there a park and bench swings, there is also great fishing and lots to see. Did I forget to mention that it has 2 boat launch ramps along the ever so famous Waccamaw River which is absolutely beautiful 😍. For a renewed nature appreciation I recommend this beautiful park... Riverfront Park is filled with a variety of interests....boating...avian...jogging...walking paths...many lovely places to sit quietly and enjoy the beauty around you....Great Gazebo for relaxing as you sit to watch the boaters come and go into the channel....a lovely Wishing Well Fountain to wish our dreams and plans come true....A truly peaceful and serene place for all to enjoy...
