I grew up in Conway but never ate here. We live downtown now and decided since we are a golf cart ride away from all these places why not try out everything downtown. We arrived about 12:10 on Sunday. The restaurant was busy but not completely packed. We were greeted nicely by the hostess and placed at a table promptly. Then a waitress came by a couple minutes later and got our drink and salad order. The salad was slightly slow to come out but nothing unreasonable. This is when things started to turn into a dumpster fire. We sat around another 15 minutes waiting for her to come back and take our food order. Never even saw her walk around the restaurant to another table. (Was she in the bathroom? Did God Almighty scoop her up off the face of the earth? We don't know.) Since I write a decent amount of reviews, when we go somewhere new we normally pay close attention and time things just because we like to be thorough. So we grew tired of waiting on her and we noticed the 2 other tables near us were growing frustrated so my wife went up to the front and ask if they could send our waitress or someone over to at least get our order. Another 5 minutes passes. Finally a waiter from another section comes over and takes our order. He was nice but seemed to lack training since he didn't ask if we had been there before or explain how the menu was family style and you ordered for the whole table instead of individually. So once we asked some questions and got all that figured out we ordered and he went back to his section. We ordered fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, rice and gravy, mashed potatoes and fried okra. He never ask us if we wanted a refill on our drinks either. So another 12 minutes goes by. No food. Him nor our original waitress has come to check on us. Still haven't seen our original waitress anywhere. We weren't sure if she was raptured or had gotten fired then low and behold we see her chatting to another table across the room. She comes back over to our section and never acknowledges that we exist. Perhaps the other wait staff told her we complained and she was mad. I'm not sure. Regardless there was not communication with us that we should expect another server or an apology or a visit from a manager to try to make things right or no update on where our food was. So she leaves again and we are still sitting there. At this point we are ready to just get up and leave and while we are sitting there talking about leaving the hostess brings over a bowl of mash potatoes. Nothing else. Just one bowl of mashed potatoes and doesn't say anything else. Sits and down and leaves. We chuckle to ourselves because we just wonder what will happen next. Another couple minutes goes by. I'm starving so I'm eating plain mashed potatoes by myself and then I see another person who I haven't seen before bring our food out. I'm honestly tired of typing so I'll be brief about this trash they brought us to eat. Mashed potatoes were good, tasted like there were from a package. Fried chicken was greasy and lacked any discernable flavor. Salt and pepper would go a long way. Rice and gravy, I'm not sure if that was dog food or what. I can't even describe it. I was just nasty and rice was gummed up all in a clump. Mac and cheese tasted just like velveta and was orange and looked like it. Fried okra was definitely out of a package. So after we nibble on this trash we give up. Our waitress that originally come to us was at another table that was complaining and they had been there as long as us and didn't have food either. We find the closest waitress and ask her to bring us our check. She was prompt and brought us the check. She ask if we wanted dessert or boxes. We wanted nothing but to leave. The bill was $35 for this. We were sick of it so we went to where we knew there was good food and good service and that was the Picked Cucumber on the other side of the block. I'm almost at my character limit for this post. Go to Pickled Cucumber. End of story. #nevercoppers...
Read moreLet me first say my true rating is zero but you have to at least check 1 star. Reservation for 4 at 5:30 on Saturday 10/4/25. Sat us at a window booth. The AC was turned on so high my hair was blowing like I was outside. I was wearing long sleeves and was freezing. We asked to be moved to another table, multiple were available. We were told no by the hostess and server. We ordered. Appetizer arrived 30 to 40 minutes. Have no idea why it took so long to get a charcuterie board. We were told they didn’t have cauliflower purée and asked if my husband wanted scalloped potatoes; he said yes. We all ordered something different. I ordered Mahi over orzo pasta. After 90 minutes we were wondering if our meal would ever arrive. I asked for more bread since we were starving by this point. The waitress said I’ll see if we have any left. Um excuse me you have no bread? She returned with our same container of dipping sauce, at least I hoped it was ours, and 5 pieces of bread that looked like it came off someone’s plate. At about 1 hour 50 minutes our food arrived. At least we thought all of our orders had arrived. My husband got the salmon and scallops, sister crab cake tower, brother-in-law chicken. Then she said who got the second salmon and scallops? Um nope not me I got the Mahi. The person who delivered it said the waitress told you we ran out of Mahi and you said the salmon. I said the waitress did no such thing I never agreed to a different meal. By this point I was very mad. They asked what I wanted and I said absolutely nothing. I was hungry but didn’t want to wait about 2 hours for food. My sister’s food was cold. My husband got no potatoes. The waitress never apologized, never came to see if we needed anything. When she did come by I told her my husband never got his potatoes and we needed that deducted from the bill. She again never apologized. Never sent the manager over. Finally I asked to speak to the manager. She said he is cooking and would have to stop cooking we all agreed that was okay we needed to speak with him. Side note while this was happening this same waitress was telling another table that the reservation list was causing her to have anxiety. Not sure why the restaurant was not full. A couple sat down at the table we were told we couldn’t move to. They asked how long we have been waiting. They had been waiting for one and a half hours for a table. They were at the bar. Before we spoke to the manager they walked out before their food arrived. They were tired of waiting.
Finally the manager came over. We explained everything to him. And told him I sat here watching everyone around me eat. Explained I was never informed the kitchen ran out of Mahi. When we told him about the bread he had a shocked expression on his face. He told us we should have asked for him earlier because the waitress should have moved us. By this time my husband had stepped outside because he was so cold. The manager didn’t have my husband pay for his meal and I since I received no food my portion was zero. The manager was professional and apologetic. He should be on the floor and not in the kitchen. Because his staff can’t do it. At our server can not do her job. She needs more training on how to keep people informed on what is going on. Maybe offer something for our wait. Not just silence.
I will never return to this restaurant when I visit my sister; and strongly encourage no one else to go either if they are in a hurry, hungry or want to receive food they...
Read moreWe had high hopes for this restaurant but left feeling very disappointed. Our visit on a Saturday evening was met with a surprisingly empty dining room—only one other table was occupied. Unfortunately, this set the tone for the rest of our experience, which was marred by a lack of attention to detail, from the dirty menus and table to the overall quality of the food and service. I ordered the Crab Cake, which the menu described as being served on a bed of mixed greens. However, there was no bed, it arrived with just a few scattered lettuce leaves. My husband's shrimp and grits were the one highlight of the meal; they were delicious. The drink I ordered, a specialty peach tea cocktail, was another disappointment. It tasted only of tea, with no discernible peach flavor. We were still hungry, so we decided to order dessert. When our server mentioned the Seven Layer Chocolate Cake, we were excited, as we both love chocolate. What she brought, however, was a dry, vanilla layer cake. Despite our multiple disappointments, we remained polite and didn't complain during the meal. We even left a 20% tip. As we were getting ready to leave, I kindly offered some feedback to our server, mentioning that the cake was dry and that the peach tea cocktail needed more peach flavor. She scoffed, took our plates, and then went to talk to the bartender about us. We know this because he made direct eye contact with me. We will not be returning to this restaurant and have already shared our experience with our friends and family. A restaurant should consistently provide both quality food and respectful service to...
