We all went on Friday night, 45 minute wait( no problem) was notified by phone table was ready and then was told there was no record … got that straighten out and was seated…. Asked to move to another table as the AC was blowing so hard it was blowing the menu’s off the table… needless to say we had to move two more time… finally had waiter come to table and take order for your meats ,as we had both b b q and kpot… only aloud to order 5 items for the table at one time then can reorder… we all went to the buffet bar and when we returned meats were placed on the table and were in wrong places, and you really didn’t know what was what as far as the beef and pork went…then you have to cook the beef, pork, chicken and seafood all in same grill …. servings were like sample size and wasn’t very good no seasoning …Best part still to come, you had to ask for silverware and we were told that only had butter knife’s and that the scissor (1) on the table was used to cut the steak and pork ( have never in my life ever seen a scissor used to cut meat at a table )as none of us liked the food and didn’t reorder the waiter stated that he wasn’t going to charge us the “ waste of food charge” what the hell, we paid for our food. Our drinks were forgotten and it took about 35 minutes to get them. They were brought by the highlight of the evening a cart robot that brought them to your table…we had ordered an order of shrimp and placed in grill , but we’re not cooking they had turned grill off…. Deserts were nothing to get excited about ,But they did have ice cream cups none of us had desert..Can I just tell you it was an interesting evening to say the least…. Would we go back not a chance…. If you do decide to go and check it out for yourself, the decor is cool, the bar is awesome but it stops there !!! make sure you bring a sweater or jacket its so cold….. also salad is on shelf’s ( many different choices)you pick what you want but the size is that of a head of lettuce, kept nice and cold as you can see the cold vapor coming from the area…dressings and sauces across the room and was not kept wiped down…again not my cup of tea.. we will not be...
Read moreNew spot, exceeded my expectations in many ways. The interior was modern and sleek similar to spots you'd find in LA, Taipei, Vancouver, or Atlanta. Think lots of LED lighting, mix of stone and wood, loud music and catering to the younger, heavy drinking, late night patrons.
Note that this is not charcoal or direct flame so the kbbq ayce format will require you to wait a bit to cook each cut to not overwhelm ability of the electric grills. Several tables were not functioning and we had to be resat a few times.
Service was a bit inconsistent, with our server seeming a bit overwhelmed at times and very unfamiliar with the menu. We had to correct them several times on what cut of meat they brought out (they weren't able to identify kalbi vs bulgogi vs hanger etc 😬😬) and they were unable to properly use their POS tablets to order so we received lots of random items in strange quantities. Additionally waitress brought us warm beer we had to send back. Ordered items came quickly however.
Staff for the most part does not speak Korean, Cantonese or Mandarin so this made it less accessible for several of the aunties with us vs other hotpot restaurants locally (818, lemongrass who have multi lingial staff).
Despite this, the staff was friendly and eager to please, even if they didn't always seem very polished. They are also only open for a few days so as they gain experience this will likely improve, just be prepared to be patient.
The Korean BBQ / hotpot options were plentiful, with a variety of meats and marinades to choose from. Large vegetable and seafood sections as well. Surprisingly their cooked and prepared items were superior quality with several (clams, shrimp, banchans) being far above what we expected here.
Overall, I'd give 3.75 out of 5 stars - while the service could use a bit of improvement, the food and atmosphere make it a great choice for a night out. Despite some minor flaws, I'd still recommend this restaurant to...
Read moreThe food here no complaints. Fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you’d want from AYCE . But sadly, the service didn’t live up to the same standard.
First off, one of the servers told me that the buffet items couldn’t be grilled because they might damage the grill. I can understand things like shellfish, conches, clams, mussels, oysters which having hard shells that could possibly harm the grill. But I had picked prime brisket from the buffet to grill, and the server still said no, claiming it could ruin the equipment. That just didn’t make sense to me. It’s the same type of meat found in the BBQ section. I’ve had Korean BBQ at many places, even fine dining spots, and I’ve never heard of meat damaging a grill. Honestly, it felt like the staff wasn’t clearly informed about what’s allowed or not ,something the owner should definitely clarify with their team. And here’s the question I’d really like the restaurant owner to answer: Why is meat or chicken from the buffet section supposedly harmful to the grill, but the same items from the BBQ section are perfectly fine?
Second, I asked for a toothpick to help eat the conch, and the server told me to just throw them in the hot pot ,that they would “pop out” on their own. That was another first for me, and frankly, it felt dismissive. I was upset and told him I knew how to eat it, just please get me the toothpick. It was hard to communicate with the staff at times because the music was way too loud. We had to raise our voices just to be understood. I’m not a picky person and I rarely leave reviews, but this experience really pushed me to speak up.
Lastly, I didn’t notice whether the spray bottle they used contained oil or water. But if it was water, the staff really should ask customers to remove their food before spraying anything on the grill. No one wants to see water sprayed directly onto their food while it’s...
