Undertow Tattoo and Piercing Studio — Attraction in Coral Springs

We had an AWESOME experience!! My best friend and I woke up wanting to get matching tattoos. After searching on google we found Undertow, and we are so happy we did!!! We called ahead and asked if they accept walk ins. The man at the front desk (wish I got his name) was so kind and said they were and that they would have two artists available around the time we wanted to come in. We came in at almost 2:30 and we were behind two other ladies that had come in. We were told it would be a 45 min wait which we were happy about bc we wanted to finalize some last minute details. During the wait we were offered complimentary water, searched through the artists books to get some more ideas, and enjoyed the music they played. My bf needed a charger and they found one for him and plugged it in next to us. SO NICE THANK YOU!!! We then met with Bing who sat down and helped us plan our design. He really made our vision come to life!! All we did was air drop him our inspo pics and he did the rest. We were so happy with his final design!!! He asked us questions and made sure every step was perfect from the design, size of the tatt, and placement. Bing did my tattoo to the left and Selena did my best friends to the right. Bing asked us if we were ok with him doing mine and Selena doing my best friends bc it won’t be identical to each others and we were fine with that. Honestly it was very considerate to ask us, bc some places won’t even care to ask. They guided us to make sure we were happy with the placement, and they let us know where it would be best and then we were off! It was nice bc there’s a window between Bing and Selena’s booth and me and my best friend could talk while we got tatt’d. Bing has a FIRE playlist and BOY he moves at lightening speed when he tatts which I appreciate!!! As you can see in the pic he did his thing!!! Selena was so sweet and she added the cutest shading to my best friends tatt!! We were worried about how painful our placements would be but Selena has a light hand and checks in to make sure you’re ok, and Bing works so fast you don’t even realize you’re getting tatt’d lol. We love the differences in our tatts and you can really see how unique Bing and Selena’s styles are. We HIGHLY recommend either, THEY WERE AWESOME!!!! It was such a dope experience!!! We were really taken care of and we have found our new tattoo shop!! Everyone was so kind and welcoming, front the front desk (wish I got the girls name that was there too) to the artists. Hell from the first call everything was great!!! The facility is beautifully decorated and very clean!!! If you need some ink COME HERE!!! RUN HERE DON’T WALK!! BingBing is the absolute Best artist I could possibly ask for. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

He's got precise line work, fluid color work with seamless blending, and excellent composition.

I came in with scattered ideas on my first full color piece and he sat with me for well over an hour to make sure the design wad perfect. Not once did he make me feel rushed or foolish for the things I was asking, and when something wouldn't have worked out (the placement or direction of the image) he took the time to explain it to me.

With my second piece I got from him, two full sleeves of a very difficult to place black line work. He worked tirelessly to make sure everything was Perfect. And I mean, Perfect.

Even during after care, BingBing answered all of my questions in a swift time fashion, giving me several explanations and options to my troubles. During the tattoos, I would ask questions, out of curiosity, like why he would do a certain thing, or why it looked a certain way during the process, and he didn't get insulted or offended. He took the time to just simply explain why and helped it make sense to me.

I had gotten two tattoos before discovering the great BingBing and both were not great experiences, so much so that the second tattoo, a small piece on my finger, wasn't done correctly and didn't heal right, BingBing offered to fix it for me while doing my color piece. It came out perfect after he touched it up. I'm so thankful for him!

BingBing has wonderful beside manners and works with excellent communication. He can see if somethings difficult to work through, if it's painful, and he helps distract with conversation and great music taste. I feel so comfortable receiving work from him, I never worry about feeling like I'm being judged by him for the pieces I ask for. He's supportive and encouraging.

I have told every person who asks about my tattoos about BingBing. He's amazing and I will always come back to him for future work. I'm proud to display the art he's done for me and his work has given me confidence in myself.

I swear even if I move away, I will return for his art because it's not just a perfect piece I'll be walking away with, but the most comforting and reassuring experience as well. I never regret going to see him and I'm beyond excited to get my next piece.

Update Sept 2023: They took down my review, so I am reposting it.

It took me going to another artist who actually knows how to draw and has an art degree from a university to truly validate how technically and egregiously bad my tattoos from Dylan were. I never got work as good as his other clients. I was convinced for a month or so to put white ink into a tattoo that looked nothing how I wanted but he charged me anyway. Either he didn’t know any better or he knew better but decided he wanted to drain me every little bit of money he could from me out of greed. Either way, it doesn’t inspire confidence from me at all.

The ethical discrepancies I have with this business is horrid. How can you tattoo someone with bad art but charge the customer to correct it? This is bad in a business and a human level. I blame myself for feeding into his rationalization for his mistake and foolishly thought he could turn out great work on me.

Facts are always better than emotions so here’s some highlights:

The anatomically design of a lion’s ear on my tattoo was wrong and he shaded it way too dark during the latter parts of our interaction.

Flat angel wings tattoo that looked nothing like the photo. I’m convinced he just phoned it his performance just to get home that night.

Dylan spent 3 hours or so on a large armor tattoo and it looked nothing like armor.

Dylan arrived late on several occasions and charged for the full hour even thought it was a half hour while rushing me out to tattoo other clients. Other clients got great work done in them but Dylan the artist scaled back his art proficiency. Not sure if it’s because people of certain demographics don’t get the same treatment.

You may see plenty of awesome art on the business website and Instagram but the worst sports team you know has a highlight reel also. I just never got the respect and treatment of getting the art I wanted.

Waste of money and big regret. I should’ve went with my gut and went to artists with integrity and precision.
