I've had The Cook and The Cork on my radar for some time now, and yesterday was the day. I evaluate my experience based on food 1st, service 2nd and atmosphere 3rd. First impression upon entering, it was cozy and dark but energetic as the acoustic in the room can probably use some sound dampening. Service was above average as it was swift and attentive but not overbearing, and questions were addressed and suggestions made. Now, the food, looking at the menu, many items were alluring, so we ordered a few things first and more later if we were still tempted or hungry. Of the several items we'd tried, presentations i think it was good, unfortunately, the taste didn't exactly match what it'd looked like. The "KFC" came out looking great, and i like that it's boneless and crispy and tender but also tasted pasty as if I'm tasting the batter? Maybe it should have been cooked a bit longer?? This dish is supposed to be award winning, so what went wrong here? The spicy cucumber salad that came on the side was also way too spicy. My company did like the wasabi mash. Short ribs sou vied for 36hrs, sure it was tender, but it killed the consistency of what ribs taste like... steak and not chicken. Tuna crispy rice is one of my favorite dishes but not here, the rice could have been crispier. I do appreciate the menu and what the chef is trying to do, but regrettably, it's not for me. 🙏

I had a lovely time at this hidden gem, coming with my mom, wife and pup. We sat outside and the atmosphere was so fun and inviting. It had a great secret garden type of feel to it that made it exciting and we loved seeing their little garden where they grow their own herbs and produce. The staff was beyond friendly and loved our pup Oso bringing him some water and a treat I'll mention below. The menu is a fun mix of foods from all over the world that reflects the head chef and owner's world travels. There were interesting flavors and interesting mixes of food that we enjoyed, especially the octopus, the Mexican Street Corn Salad, and the Short Rib. Both the desserts were excellent too with their homemade gelato (lemon and rasberry...SOOO GOOD) and the chocolate brownie with ice cream stack that looks like a cartoon hamburger in the pic below (also delicious). They also make their own dog treats which is the smiley-face cookie below that our pup loved. Would definitely recommend!

The Cook and the Cork is a great place to eat or just have a few drinks and small plates. The staff is great and very friendly and knowledgeable about wine and pairing. The owners are super sweet and appreciative. The service was fast and very friendly and organized. The chef sent out some small plates for us Gnocchi in butter sauce and fried Chrysanthemum Leaves and some type of Fritters which were really delicious! Btw they were not on the menu. I think he was testing them out. We didn't take pics of the food... why? Because we were stupid! But the pics of the empty plate should say it all.. The woman's bathroom smelt so good and was beautifully decorated... then I was told to go in the men's rm and they was a pot for a sink.. I thought that was great! But anyway, should you want a nice quaint place to go to in Coral Springs then you should go to the Cook and the Cork!

ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS! I don't even know where to start, maybe by the first step inside the restaurant, do not let the pictures fool you, the room is very small yet incredibly loud, louder than any night club you’ve been to, except it wasn’t music to our ears. We sat down and couldn't hear a thing that the receptionist was telling us. The panel of food available is embarrassingly limited so do not feel picky if you ever decide to enter that place, nor fancy by the way because we’re talking about a restaurant serving entrees such as the “revisited” KFC (Yes , the fried chicken) but 5 times more expensive than the fast food.

Ordering was a hassle, the waiter was extremely condescending, the room was so loud we could not hear anything he was telling us, he wasn’t making any effort to speak a little louder, I had to lean in, almost stand up from from my chair, in order to understand what was coming out of his mouth. When it was our turn to order, we stomped on the same issue, except this time the waiter could not understand what we were trying to order, he was acting like we were wasting his time because we had to repeat ourselves multiple times.

I also ordered some champagne, I’ve never had to present my ID in any other restaurant when ordering drinks, literally never, but this one requires it, this was the first time ever. I had mine because I drove there but unfortunately my partner, who I was dining with, did not bring hers because she never had to, and even though she is obviously allowed to drink, the waiter did not show an ounce of understanding and came back with only one glass just because she could not present any ID. How pathetic.

I decided to pour myself some champagne in the glass that was initially used for water. In any decent dine-in place the waiter always asks before pouring anything in your glass but apparently they do things differently there because, while my glass was still half full of champagne, the waiter comes in and decides to pour the rest of the glass with water, diluting my champagne, and leaves without speaking a word. I will not not speculate whether this was intentional or not, but the color of my drink makes it pretty obvious that I did not have water in that glass.

The food was below mediocre, I ordered salmon with shrimps. The salmon came in soggy, overcooked, unseasoned, bathing in still boiling broth, I could literally count the number of tiny shrimps that I ate to the incredible number of 4, and 70% of the plate was soggy vegetables. The only positive thing I have to say is that we didn’t have to wait too long for our plates to be served, but considering the quality of the food, I wouldn’t be surprised if any of it was microwaved. I am impressed at how much went wrong in only half an hour.

I wrote a lot of good reviews and bad reviews, even though I haven’t found the best restaurant yet I can confidently say that it was the worst experience I’ve ever had in any place. Save yourself the headache and the money, go buy yourself a tuna can and chips to eat in your car, it will be more pleasurable than booking a table there. It is the last place I would ever recommend to anyone, I would suggest Runyon’s or The Melting Pot instead, both are located in the same area, they serve excellent food, the service is very courteous, it is not too loud, and they won’t ask for your ID after ordering champagne.

PS: No need to reply to this review. I don’t need an explanation to justify why your restaurant is run so poorly. Keep handing bonuses to waiters for doing a...

ZERO STARS is more deserving. Went here as a party of 6. Within an 1 hr and 20 minutes (according to the owner) we ordered and finished 9 apps/small plates and 3 bottles of wine. We were just getting started. The waiter asked us 2 times to please order entrees because the chef is getting backed up in the kitchen and will take 30-40 minutes to get the entrees out. We were fine with that because we were not in any rush as we explained. A different waiter came over pressuring us further that we need to order our entrees asap. We got the hint. Either order now or leave. We then asked for the check, the waiter appeared annoyed and rolled his eyes saying we don't have to leave. The bill was $220(grat not included) just for the first hour and like I said we were just getting started and planned on ordering entrees just taking our sweet time away from the kids and enjoy the laughs/company with our friends. As we walked out I asked a young man who was in button down and tie if he was the manager. He said no he ran and owned the restaurant. I said, "Thanks for making us feel rushed and practically kicking is out. We will go and finish our meal at Runyons." I was in shock at his response. Are you ready for this??" You were here for an hour 20 minutes and didn't even order your entrees.Go enjoy your sh*y meal at Runyons." Are you serious? That's how an "owner" responds to 6 unhappy customers? It wasn't like Cook and the Cork was busy. They had 5 open tables at 8pm on a Saturday. We went to Runyons and enjoyed our time there tremendously. Will never return to Cook and the Cork. There are too many GOOD restaurants to choose from in the area and Cook and the cork is not...

We have dined here several times since my initial review and have been happy with our meals. Not sure what the issue was, but our experience this time was vastly inferior to previous visits. My companion's short rib dinner was fine as previous. It's his favorite and go to here. My pork chops were very over cooked and dry. Service was poor. Never offered a refill of my wine. Waiter didn't check back after we got our food until my companion was almost finished. Since it took him so long to check back, I finally ate some of mine, though at least half of my $38 pork chop came home for our dogs. Both of our $38 entrées were served on brownish colored plates that were badly chipped. The corner of my companion's plate was entirely chipped off. I expect chipped dishes at a diner, though don't really like it. At The Cook and The Cork, not so much.

The restaurant was contacted privately the next morning after our visit via their web site and failed to respond in any way whatsoever.

From a year ago

Love this place. Their chips and dip is something we get almost every time. I'm trying to copy it, getting pretty close but not there yet. Hubs absolutely loves their short ribs and gets them pretty much every time. We both like the KFC, Korean fried chicken. I got the risotto small plates soecial and the beets and greens salad this time. Both were great. I've gotten the duck confit before and it was yummy. Our doggies love the biscuits they make too, but they have been out the last couple of times we were there. I need to remember to ask ahead...
