Three girlfriends out just to hang out and catch up. One of us said "the foodies like Red Ginger", so that's where we went. On our table: wonton soup, wonton soup 1/2 and 1/2 with egg drop soup, hot and sour soup, spring rolls, a shrimp tempura roll, and sa-cha beef. The soups stole the show for us. My wontons were al-dente, which I don't prefer, but the soup itself had a lovely smoky flavor to it that was rather nice. My friend raved about the hot and sour soup. For the rest of the food, it's worth commenting that the ingredients all tasted very fresh. The spring rolls and shrimp tempura roll were on par for most good Asian places. The sa-cha beef was tasty, if a bit too sweet for me. No one else thought it too sweet. My friend did comment that there was no sa-cha in the beef. Since her Dad was a Chinese chef I guess she'd know, but since it was my first time trying the dish, I had no comparison. Still we all agreed we liked the food and we'd go back. There were many interesting dishes on the menu we'd like to try. I will say our server, Kareem, was very helpful in explaining the menu and taking care of requests. He switched out our tea for another variety when we didn't like the Jasmine, and he brought my soup on the double when I asked as I was very hungry. The rest of the meal arrived in perfect timing, but I needed something within moments and Kareem was a rock star in providing...
Read moreI enjoyed my meal today, though I don’t think I’d order anything I ordered again. The staff was all extremely polite and accommodating. From the hostess to our server and other waitstaff in the restaurant, I had pleasant interactions every time I spoke to them. I mostly blame myself for my food errors. I incorrectly assumed that the Honey Garlic Fried Chicken would be like a chicken tender or boneless wing, which it was not. It was a very crispy (that’s good) platter of 5 total chicken legs and and wings bathing in honey with garlic, served extremely hot. I was warned of its temperature and a total of four (4) times tried to test it and was harmed. Once it was tolerable, it was tasty. But, because it was not what I was expecting (mostly my fault), I probably wouldn’t order it again. Then, I ordered the Philadelphia Roll and realized (I overlooked this, but it was on the menu) that it is made with cooked salmon, not raw salmon, which once again changed the flavors that I was expecting. I did enjoy eating the two rolls I ordered, but I would not order them again. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this restaurant. The staff is polite, the food is hot, and the flavors are enjoyable. My family also enjoyed their...
Read moreOmg, what a horrible experience my bf and I had at this place yesterday. I ordered the shrimp with lobster sauce and my bf ordered the orange peel beef. My dish came with about 4 shrimps and the sauce was definitely not lobster sauce, I have no idea what that was, but it was tasteless and the whole dish resembled like a slot that you feed a pig. The orange peel dish my bf ordered was overlooked and he mentioned that Pei Wei does it better! I’m not the type of person who usually complain at restaurants, so I ate the 4 shrimps with a little bit of rice since I was so hungry and left the whole dish there, But I did tell the waiter politely towards the end that I did not like my meal. He tried to make it right and remove it from the bill, but the manager would not allow it since I had eaten the shrimps. I asked to speak to the manager and before we even explained anything, he came out with an attitude. He flattenly refused to acknowledge our complaint, did not give us a chance to talk at all and even after we told him we were not coming back, he did not care. He was extremely rude, had no customer service skills whatsoever, and should not be working with the public, Don’t bother with this place! Bad food and...
