Ganahl Lumber — Attraction in Corona

Ganahl's Lumber is a necessary evil. They have the best lumber selection around. If you're looking for something specific, & don't want to order it and endure the wait time that inevitably entails, there is a good chance Ganahl will have the lumber you need, in stock, available for immediate pickup or delivery. They don't have the cheapest prices around, but they do have a vast selection of lumber.

Then there's the people. I'm not sure why it is that specialty lumber & hardware people believe they are on such an elevated plane from others that they don't have to speak to them respectfully, or even politely, or even at all, but they do act as if the air they breath is rarified, just for them. The staff here is almost universally rude. ALMOST. There are a few hidden gems-of-an-employee that will help, sometimes even proactively, but for the most part the staff here is rude and unaccommodating.

Ganahl's employees: you truly just aren't that special. Your customers may, in fact, be involved in far more weighty & significant endeavors than you, so how about the respect flows both ways and you show it as much as you expect others to deliver it to you. Better yet, how about you're actually proactively NICE to customers for a change.

Ganahl's has also implemented this incredibly impersonal method of social distancing: their staff members are roped off, like royalty, and you can't get too close unless they beckon you. It is truly off-putting, bordering on insulting. If you are so concerned for your health and safety, how about wearing a mask like I do? I was, you weren't, & yet I have to bend to your will. Incompetent credit manager (I believe her name is Ellen, in the Anaheim yard) who wants to make a name for herself, causing a major waste of time. She also had the audacity of refusing to take my call or return my voicemail after the sales associate transferred my call to her (the sales associate confirmed she was in the office, and herself admitted that she was frustrated, and could not understand why they would not accept the order). We provided a credit card authorization form with a copy of my out of state driver's license and US passport for a $15K order. Note: this driver's license alone was enough for me to buy a $60,000 vehicle via phone from a Los Angeles-based dealership. Additionally, a passport is accepted in any place of business as an equivalent form of ID as a driver's license. it appears that the person I was dealing with has probably never left the country and likely doesn't know what a passport is. Secondly, I offered to complete the transaction with my wife's credit card and California driver's license, with her signing the paperwork. This request was refused because it would "raise too many questions". There is no way I will ever entertain a bid or contemplate utilizing Ganahl for any current future projects. You have lost on what could have been a meaningful pipeline of business. 1st time calling and purchasing from Ganahl Lumner and what an experience! I tried Home Depot and they wouldn’t deliver what I needed, how do they expect me to place 11- 2x6 by 24 foot pieces of lumber on a Honda Pilot??

I had the pleasure of being helped by a Miguel who helped me with all my questions! I wasn’t too sure what I needed and it was nice that he understood my lack of knowledge, he didn’t make fun of me like at Lowe’s and he even made suggestions with recommendations!!

I received my order a few days later and the driver that was literally a black belt with a forklift who was probably trained by NASA scientists maneuvered the lift with such precision I was left in total awe!! I kept watching and thought my driveway is narrow.. Nope he made it work! My roof sticks out too much.. nope he squeezed thru like a champ!

He placed my entire stack of lumber and drywall into my garage like rocking a baby to sleep! I was beyond impressed and made sure to let him know!! He was truly humble and said the machine does all the work for me. He’s frigging awesome!!!!
