The phở here is pretty bad, but it's not like I was expecting much for Asian food in the IE (if you're actually looking for good phở, you need to go to OC). The people running this place are Vietnamese so I don't doubt that the food is authentic; however, the phở is just...awful. A non-Vietnamese person or someone who hasn't had quality phở might not be able to tell the difference between good and bad phở but, as a Vietnamese person, I can tell you that the phở here is exceptionally bad. To start, I ordered phở tái ("phở with RARE beef") and they literally brought my phở out with the meat already cooked and well-done. Secondly, the broth quite literally tasted like salted water. Have you ever tried the instant phở that Costco sells? Yes, this tasted exactly like that. There was no depth to the flavor of the broth and the meat was poor quality.
I also want to point out that I came here starving but still found the food unpalatable. Which is saying something because usually, when people are super hungry, anything will taste good to them – but I couldn't even finish my bowl. Only gave 2 stars because the restaurant felt clean/had nice interior and their portion sizes are pretty generous (quantity over quality, I guess). Wouldn't come here again nor recommend to...
Read moreMy first time eating at Pho Koi today, I ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee, and the combination pho (subbed extra tendon for the tripe- just personal preference) shared an order of springs rolls with my mom and she ordered a crunchy pan noodle dish. My pho was delicious and the small size was still a heaping bowl! The broth was really tasty and clean, the meats were all yummy, the tendons were the perfect gummy texture, not too chewy! The spring rolls were just okay and the peanut sauce is more of a hoisin sauce but I would still order again lol. My mom asked for crunchy noodles but they came out wet and soft, she didn’t mind and ate them anyway saying they tasted good but would have been more satisfying had they been the crunchy she was craving. The iced coffee was bomb! Service was great, speedy and attentive. Great vibes inside, very LA hipster ish. Will definitely be coming back again and again!...
Read moreMy favorite place in Corona to enjoy delicious Pho soup. Chicken and beef Pho's are mouthwatering. I love how aromatic, flavorful and heartwarming they are, and also, portions are really generous. With your order you'll receive a plate with some garnishes as bean sprouts, fresh brasil, sliced chili peppers and lime wedges.
Additional to the traditional Pho soups, you can try more dishes as noodles or gyozas, which are also tasty.
The environment is super family friendly and relaxing, but during dinner time it can get pretty busy and you may be waitlisted for a table. So, just be patient, it won't take long. Usually, service is fast and kind.
Ps. Don't forget to try their Vietnamese beers. Totally...
