Back in February of we stopped by & learned about the history of Corpus Christi. I’ve been coming here for years, especially when I was a kid in school. As an adult I can still enjoy it with my family because they always have new history to be discovered. I definitely recommend visiting this museum if you’re in the area or coming for vacation. My friend is a member of the Texas State Aquarium and one of those benefits is you get discounts on tickets at other local attractions. I didn’t have to pay for my ticket but I did have to pay for my nephew, which was only about $10. Become a member today; online or on location 🎫 Individual Benefits include: •Free admission for 1 & guest •Members only events •Free popcorn •10% off parties and gift shop We walked like a dinosaur through the prehistoric exhibit, we even got to see the Hall of Earth & Science 🧪 We learned about the local Native American settlements and got to see artifacts from a Spanish Shipwreck in 1554! At the end of the tour the kids spent an hour playing at the HEB Science Center. Super interactive and kept them entertained 🛝

The museum itself is great, the screaming children running back and forth through all the exhibits not so much. People, please let your kids do that in the children's play section ONLY and NOT the rest of the museum. There are so many neat exhibits in this museum, such as the shipwreck, Corpus Christi native section (Karankawa), Birds of Corpus, and raw gemstone collection. There are also many hidden gems here; the astrolabe, a reproduction Spanish sword from a conquistador (in the bathroom hallway of all places), and bits of meteorite (in the very back right of the Predator & Prey section). Definitely it's geared towards children, but there's much for adults to enjoy and learn about here too. If you want to really look at everything, to read the plaques and fully appreciate the artifacts, I suggest spending 3hrs here. I highly recommend coming here.

A+++++! My kids are homeschooled so I thrive on places just like this one. They have staff in the history side who actually play the part and interact with guest. The science section was one of the most interactive I’ve seen in a while, that they actually cared to partake in. Everything from sunken ships of the 1500’s, to slave trading in the sugar can days when slaves where being transported in horrid conditions on ships, to wagons, karankawa tribes, cells / DNA / the periodic table / mass volume and density…, marine life, dinosaurs, astronomy, and more! Oh, and a new space exhibit coming soon. I went back to the front seat and they refunded our admission so I could purchase the annual membership (which includes popcorn - bonus!) . Perk of other facility’s included! Thanks for making places like this and having great staff to make it run right!

Best museum in the Coastal Bend with something for everyone! Free parking and best value compared to the ones on North Beach. This museum has a little bit of everything. It has exhibits on natural history (fossils and gems), art, history, health and science. There is a star show and a large scale model of the cell. Second story has music and a play structure. Great place for everyone. Kids can run and play, adults can learn some history and culture. Huge exhibit on the history of the Coastal Bend and La Salle. The recreation of the historic businesses was a can't miss. It was listed as "As busy as it gets" but it never felt crowded because there is ample parking and plenty to do inside. There is even an exhibit about NASA! Tip: they participate in the ASTC passport program.

While in town for the weekend, my family of five (3 adults and 2 kids) visited this museum on a whim and we were not disappointed! We paid a total of $27 for entry. The museum has a huge historical section complete with a life-size ship. They also, surprisingly, had a rather large children’s section that was interactive. Our kids were able to climb through a huge climbing structure, build with life size blocks, construct DNA, enjoy a small planetarium, climb a rock wall, and walk up and down stairs made of piano key steps that actually played tunes as you take steps! I was so surprised that on a Saturday afternoon during spring break, there was no crowding. Our kids enjoyed the exhibits without having to battle other kids.
