Railroad Seafood & Brewery - Downtown — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

First time customer at this restaurant. Decided to have a birthday party get together with our family. We ordered an appetizer ( I believe it to be the Bock queso and chips) and it took about an hour to receive it. It didn't taste like cheese and had a very weird texture to it My entire family was put off but we were starving at the time so we choked it down.) Then we ordered the redfish platter with two sides. I happen to order the hobo fries and the onion rings. (It was highly recommended) It took a long time for the food to come out. The onion rings didn't even look like onion rings it looked like sauteed onions was some breading here and there. The hobo fries were good. As for the redfish it had really good flavor but unfortunately the fish was overcooked and very tough to eat. They decided to go ahead and replace those dinners then we chose the The red fish tacos. We had to wait a quite a bit of time before that came out as well. When it came out the tacos had good flavor but unfortunately they were still overcooked. We knew it was getting late and we decided that we wanted to go ahead and get the bread pudding. We were told that it would have to be to go because how late it was. When they brought out the bread pudding it didn't even look appetizing it wasn't even consistent portions. When we brought it home, it tasted okay I've had better. My family all agree that this would be the last time that we ever stepped foot into this restaurant. It was a bad experience and a really bad experience especially on somebody's birthday. Worst experience I have had at a restaurant in quite sometime. We came in on May 13th for some dinner and drinks before the hooks game. It was my birthday and we hoped for some good food and service. The restaurant was packed due to a concert at The American Bank Center as well. Any downtown/ SEA district restaurants should be staffed and ready for this. We ordered 2 margaritas and onion rings. It took us 20 minutes to get the margaritas and the onion rings came out as soggy ,greasy onion strings piled on a plate. We went ahead and ordered a second margarita as soon as we got the the first due to long wait. I ordered a tuna steak salad and my boyfriend a shrimp quesadilla. We waited an additional 20 minutes for our drinks (2nd round). When we finally got our food and 2nd round we decided to order 2 martinis. When we questioned the wait, our server told us that the bartender was new and had no idea what he was doing. Never offered to get a manager. The salad was dry and the dressing tasteless. The quesadillas were gross and had a pile of grease dripping off of them. We almost cancelled our martini order and still, server says sorry... she then later informs me that this restaurant always has issues and management runs it poorly. Sadly, we were 30 minutes late for the hooks game, dissatisfied, out $60 , not even a slight buzz from the weak drinks and I didnt even get birthday dessert. This place needs some help,big time. It seems to have so much potential and the service staff is drowning it.

Southwest Eggrolls were great app however, been sitting here waiting for our meals for almost an hour now. Looking around and barely anyone has food on their tables.. Terrible service.

Update after finally getting food After an hour wait we got our food. Well everyone at my table did, except me as I was told my grilled shrimp tacos were still not ready. Unfortunately, everyone's food at the table was warm and not hot. On top of that the waitress didn't even apologize for the extended wait. After waiting 5 min for my tacos the waitress then came to the table without my food saying, "they made them with corn tortillas and not flour like your ordered, is that okay?" I simply replied with no, I'd like what I ordered. After 5 more minutes I received my grilled shrimp tacos. They looked delicious but I was disappointed to find 2 shrimp in each of the two tacos. 2.. really? $15 for two tacos with just two shrimp in each?

We were really looking forward to this place but was very disappointed in the service. We even talked and gave our waitress the benefit of the doubt saying before we left that she was going to come apologize for the poor service and what not but she never did. It was kind of like she was avoiding us because she knew we were having a negative experience. But nope, nothing.
