Made the trip to Corpus with specific intentions on visiting this museum. We noted that it wasn't open until 11, so decided to hit a Thrift shop to pass some time. We arrived back at the Asian Culture Museum around 11:20 to find it closed! How disappointing.
I see at least one other traveler had a similar experience. What a waste to have these wonderful cultural exhibits and not be professional enough to have them open during the posted hours of operation.
Maybe they should take the hours off the website and just say "call to see if we're open." At least then people wouldn't have an expectation that they would actually be open. Very...
Read moreThis is such a neat and personable experience. Richard was at the front and explained the area well, he later met us in the musuem and started explaining things and giving us a small tour. He was very informative and even told us about events they had going on later in the year. I wanted to learn about Japanese art styles but I got so much more out of the musuem! It's not just art it's also history! The clay doll room was one of my favorites, hearing stories about them and how they are made was very interesting.

Read moreCommonly referred to as "the hidden Gem of Corpus", the Texas State Museum of Asian cultures has several interesting exhibits. You can take a self guided tour of the facility and ask the museum manager questions if you have them. They also have a nice giftshop with lots of great items for sale. It is definitely a "TO SEE" place while in Corpus.
